The stories we are reading about the Federal government closing open-air monuments, federal parks and even private businesses operated on federal property is infuriating. There is no reason for it at all, and in many cases President Obama is spending more funds to close an area than needed to leave it open.
We keep hearing stories about national parks and national monuments being closed due to the government shut down. But this closure may forever remain a mystery.
That is the position taken by our current President on both the 2014 budget, or rather, the continuing resolution, and, raising the debt ceiling.

It really is a mental disease. How else can you describe this? The principal at Entz Elementary School in Mesa, Ariz. contacted a Coolidge police officer and asked him not to wear his uniform or bring his gun to campus ever again when dropping off or picking up his daughter.

The cost of college education keeps going up. Could the rising costs have anything to do with programs such as this?
If the federal government actually does shut down for a couple of days or a couple of weeks, will we even notice? Almost certainly not if recent history is a guide.
So Denver gets a bunch of stimulus cash to spend – and they really HAVE to spend it – so they buy a bunch of saplings and go door to door around Denver asking property owners if they would like a free tree planted in their yard.
