The eight hour live Troopathon 2010 event begins at 4 p.m. ET on July 1, but you can join in and show your support by purchasing a care package or two – or 25 – today! Last year, the Troopathon raised more than $600,000 in donations. Are you up to the challenge? Our troops are, so let’s not let them down.
Thanks to all of you who participated in this year’s Troopathon, Melanie Morgan and Move America Forward’s push to send care packages to all of the troops overseas. The final total is $603,049.14. Wow!
Thanks also to the Greyhawk Team, five great blogs including Radio Vice Online and the Sound Off Connecticut audience. We finished in second place with total collections over just 48 hours of $17,146.06!
We finished just behind Hot Air, Michelle Malkin and Ed Morrissey’s site. They are an amazing bunch … $24,704. And of course let’s not forget Robert Spencer’s Anti-Jihadists at $9,298.
The other teams on the list added greatly too and I would be remiss if I did not mention the folks over at Free Republic collecting $1,249.78. Many of the Freepers contributed here to the Greyhawk Team and I want to thank you guys so much for switching for just a day. God Bless.
Two big shout outs. First, thanks so much to Malibu Fitness in Farmington for contributing $3,000 raised at their Thanksgiving road race last year. Each year they run the race and contribute to soldier care packages and this year they selected the Troopathon. Thanks guys!
And of course our team captain Ron Winter and all of you and the great bloggers helped make the Troopathon a great success. God bless you all for helping.
Here’s the blog roll for the Greyhawks:
Please visit their sites … and leave a comment and let them know how much you appreciate their work.
Thanks to another awesome effort during the last 24 hours, the Greyhawk team is within striking distance of the second place Anti-Jihadists. Have you taken the few moments to donate care packages to the troops? Your donation is tax-deductible, and goes to a great cause.
Awesome 24 hours since Radio Vice Online joined the Greyhawk team led by Ron Winter. Even though the Hot Air Steamers, with leadership from Ed Morrissey, showed an impressive 72 percent increase in their donation total, the Greyhawks experienced a 6,200 percent jump in donations – how’s that for some serious twisting of mathematics!
Author Ron Winter contacted us this weekend about Move America Forward’s Troopathon event on June 25. There is a blogger competition going on and Radio Vice Online just joined the Greyhawks. You can join the effort to help send the largest ever shipment of care packages to our armed forces in Afghanistan, Iraq and Guantanamo Bay!
