Uncle Sam wants you

The federal government has a web site, USAJobs.gov, that is designed to match federal job openings with those looking for a job in the federal government.  It is one of the many jobs programs currently in existence, all of which cost the taxpayers a great deal of money, and have come under fire recently for, in many cases, duplicating other federal jobs programs.

But, I digress.

In 2004, the Bush administration out-sourced the USAJobs web site’s operation to Monster.com, a well known private web site that matches applicants to available jobs.  All went well for seven years.

However, eighteen months ago the Obama White House Office of Personnel Management decided it could do a far better job.  Two weeks ago, and some $6 million later, the government unveiled the new web site.  Here are some of the glowing reviews found on Facebook:

‘Why am I having to do the same search 3 times before anything shows up?’

‘Over one week now and I still haven’t received my password reset emaill!!!’

‘USAJOBS WEB SITE IS A DISASTER!’

‘I entered Delaware and got Germany jobs and all of the Forest Service.’

And these folks think they can run the entire healthcare system in the United States.  This should be fun, unless you are sick, that is.

Meanwhile, Monster.com has offered take over the web site for 30 days while the federal government works out the bugs…hopefully.

Yet another “we can do it better” debacle by the government, demonstrating how private industry outclasses them at every turn.

$11,000 per day for 18 months to produce a nonfunctional or inefficient web site?? Good grief, have they no shame?

?Just another debacle the next administration will have to straighten out.? Even a stopped clock is right twice a day but the Obama regime hasn’t hit that lofty goal yet.

It just keeps getting stupider and stupider.? Sorry, I can’t wax poetic with such proof of a Kindergarten approach to jobs and federal jobs at that. Is there any reason why the Feds can’t match private jobs to the unemployed on their handy dandy USAJobs website? We don’t want or need anymore federal employees.? Monster.com can do this in a snap, well that’s what they do anyway. As a matter of fact let’s take this time to say fire the czars.

And, where DID the $6 million go? Into whose pocket, hmmmmm?
Solyndra, Fisker, USAJobs: only the tip of the very dirty iceberg.
Want to save federal money? Delete the Department of Education. It educates NO ONE.
