The Internet is buzzing this morning with the 40 percent figure, so I figured I would take a look at the New York City report myself. There has been some question concerning the residency of those mothers in the report, and I’m going to try and dig into that here.

I’m not sure how much faith you can put in reports from anonymous New York City Sanitation Department employees who met with a city councilman yesterday, but you might as well read about it. They say the “message” sent – supported and encouraged by management – was in retaliation for demotions, attrition and budget cuts.

This is one of those stories that will really get TEA Party members all worked up, but it’s for the wrong reason. It makes sense to change from all UPPERCASE to Lowercase as the signs need to be replaced since they really are easier to read. There are issues however.
