The party must go on. First and foremost – you realize don’t you – the federal government will be spending billions of dollars more than they did last year even though the so-called “devastating” sequester is in place. Everything is being canceled everywhere, and even the president plans to “give back” 5 percent of his salary. Since I passed 6th grade math, I just do not get it.
Of course it’s not just a weapon, more specifically it was a rifle, and only a semi-automatic rifle at that. But that does not stop President Obama from deliberately misleading everyone who listens to him by stating a “fully automatic weapon” was used in during the Newtown shooting. That’s an outright lie.
Crying wolf one too many times? A long, long time ago the United States Congress had to deal with what was referred to as a “Fiscal Cliff.” If we went over the cliff, it would be disastrous for the United States and the world. To solve the problem, Congress changed the rules. What makes you think the congress-critters won’t just change the rules again when it comes to the sequester cuts?
Brilliant! I consider myself a relatively smart person, I know a lot of things about a few subjects and I’ve dabbled a little bit when it comes to running a small business, working for Fortune 50s, and even helping out at start-ups … but I never had the idea to raise the minimum wage to wipe-out poverty.
I’m sorry about the flurry of gun control posts on the blog during the last 45 days, but I just can not let stand the outright lies and distortions coming from politicians and talking-heads who tweak their message to appeal to the emotional side of the low-information voter.
Should we pass a law? Last year, two teens drowned in Connecticut government school pools under the supervision of government employees. More than 3,000 unintentional, non-boating-related drownings occur each year, and about 700 of those are children under 14. Making life jackets mandatory will save lives.
When President Obama was said “we do skeet shooting all the time,” there was skepticism across the board from just about everyone. Why won’t the Executive Branch just suck it up, come out and let the American public know Obama tried it once and did not like it?
Part of the $800+ billion stimulus law required the Executive Branch provide detailed reporting concerning the results – good or bad – of the program. After multiple reports indicated “saved or created” jobs were costing upwards of $300,000 each, the Obama administration just stopped providing the reports.
Surprise! Really, it’s not a surprise at all. The low-information voters out there had heard from President Obama that taxes would only increase for the top 2 percent, but he only told a half-truth. and barely at that.
I’m wondering if President Obama figured House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) would spill the beans concerning the discussions he had with the president. I want to hear more. I want to hear the president stand up and tell the American people the federal government does not “have a spending problem.”
