Obama: The planet will boil over…

By Steve McGough | July 2, 2013 |

Goodness grief. I thought the environmental groups moved from “global warming” to “climate change” to cover the fact the world really is not warming and will supposedly be experiencing “extremes.” Now I guess we’re back to the possibility of the world “boiling over.”

PRISM slide data released June 29 by Washington Post

By Steve McGough | June 30, 2013 |

Follow me here. It looks like information being collected by the NSA within the PRISM program is filtered to exclude known Americans, but the real effort to exclude the data comes after they have started to collected it.

European allies will not be happy about NSA bugging them

By Steve McGough | June 30, 2013 |

The NSA monitoring operations could destroy the Obama administration’s good-will that has been building since before he was elected in 2008. I’m wondering if someone is going to demand a recall of the Nobel Peace Prize President Obama received before he did anything. Or will he be left alone?

USDA goes insane – Requires “disaster plan” to relocate pet rabbit during disaster

By Steve McGough | June 30, 2013 |

Symptom of the disease folks. The federal government has gotten so large they are now sending multi-page letters to owners of registered rabbits used during magic shows demanding they provide a detailed disaster plan that would let the government know how the owner is going to help get the rabbit through the disaster.

It’s not student loan interest – it’s the principal and principle of it all

By Steve McGough | June 29, 2013 |

Does everyone understand how low student loan rates are? Borrowing money for college during the last 10 years has never been less expensive. So why are Democrats freaking out about the loan interest rates, while turning a blind eye to the huge tuition increases at public (and private) colleges and universities?

US Park Police has lost control of firearm inventory

By Steve McGough | June 28, 2013 |

The US Park Police has no system in place to categorize, inventory or control the firearms – including fully automatic rifles – they may or may not have in their possession. These are the kind of mistakes that can shut down a small business with a federal firearms license forever. Who is responsible?

Can we please audit the IRS?

By Steve McGough | June 28, 2013 |

There is a short opinion piece in the Washington Times today about the IRS. It’s not just about the agency targeting conservative groups for scrutiny after applying for tax-exempt status, it’s about the systemic problems at the bloated federal agency charged with implementing the most complex tax code imaginable.

IRS sends $46 million in refunds to 24,000 at one address

By Steve McGough | June 27, 2013 |

And this is the organization that will be in charge of the Obamacare mandates. Remember the Inspector General audit pointing out the targeting of TEA Party groups when it came to IRS tax-exempt approvals? We also have another audit – again published last summer and not released to the media prior to the election –…

IRS extravagance: What difference at this point does it make?

By Steve McGough | June 27, 2013 |

I’ve been fighting – what seems to be an ever-long battle – to limit the scope of the federal government to Article 1, Section 8 of the United States Constitution. The state and commonwealth governments have the power – as determined by their state legislatures – to provide funding and support for all sorts of programs if the…

The “Life of Julia” – Her path to amnesty in the US

By Steve McGough | June 27, 2013 |

The Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) has created a slide show similar to the Obama campaign’s presentation on how important his agenda was to Julia, a single mother if I recall correctly. CIS has applied the same theme to go over the proposed illegal alien amnesty program.
