Note from Jim Vicevich – Hospital of Central Connecticut

Just a quick note to say thanks to all of you for your prayers. I have had many Docs but never so many prayers. Make no mistake, I consider my remarkable recovery a miracle, and my Docs are amazed as well. You all helped put me back on my feet faster than anyone could have expected given the serious nature of the illness.

Special thanks to my good friend Liz Grey and my son who both insisted I get emergency care and without them, well, my Doctors have told me, time was running out quickly. And of course the man of the moment, Liz’s brother, Dr. Michael Grey and my new Rheumy, who’s just a firecracker.

Thanks to Duby McDowell. I was more than touched by her kindness. I will never forget that Duby. Ever. Please visit her site. She is a kind person, and funny too. Not to mention she knows every college mascot in the country. TRUE!. Also check out her business here. Please.

And that wonderful letter from Governor Rell. She will never know, but it was her letter that now serves as my guidance. She knows me too well. Governor, I promise, I will follow  your advice.

Mass cards, well wishes, a rosary, and some wonderfully inspirational books all led me to my Doctor, and the wonderful people at The Hospital of Central Connecticut. Would you please visit their site. It is, by the way, the highest tech, most beautiful hospital I have ever seen. But the people. My gosh. From one of the best ER’s in the nation (run by an USAF veteran of course, thanks Col.) to ALL of the nurses (Chris, I think her name was, in particular) and the residents over the weekend, and the one UCONN Med intern (he is going to be a great Doc folks, keep your eye on him), all showed great care, and listened. It is a small hospital, but it is my hospital. And I never will be able to thank them enough. They saved my life.

Lastly I just wanted to say that the hard part begins now, and we will be feeling our way for about 12 weeks. So I will be spending my last few days off finally relaxing. While I have been out for almost three weeks, I have not exactly been relaxing. It’s been a struggle. Now come a few days to actually rest. So I will not be posting for three days. I’m finally off,

BUT, you can count on Steve, Barb, Dave and Eric to pick up the slack. So stay here all weekend, and I will see you all Monday. God bless you all. Your prayers are being answered. Now, I will pray for all of you in thanks.

Thank GOD you are alright; this is music to my ears.  Hopefully you can take it easy at work for a few weeks and not stress yourself out.  We love your rants but not if it means jeopardizing your health.  Have a great weekend.

Take care, big guy!  Watch some Godzilla movies!  They are perfect, mindless ways to relax.  We are praying for a swift and full recovery.

    I can't wait for Monday!
