Jack Cafferty to Obama: Come home … your place is with the people in the midwest

I was more than just a little shocked … but Jack is always full of surprises. His audience letters surprised me too. Video below the fold.

Last night, while the President toasted the Queen, the people of Joplin were picking up the pieces from the worst tornado in American history. That was just too much for Jack, and he puts it in perspective.

If this is just tit for tat … them I’m not about it. But he does have a point. Even better are the responses from his viewers.

Go ahead … take the poll. You tell me.

This is a good example of why I feel this president is a lousy president.? A leader knows how to prioritize.? Obama either doesn’t know how to put this country first, or doesn’t want to put this country first.? Several news sources have called this trip a “vacation”.? Whether he is on official buisness or it is a vacation, he is the leader of this country and should be with his people in the worst of times.? Not off galavanting and drinking in another country.

Come on, this is the heartland of America. They can take care of themselves, not like to poor in New Orleans. The liberals think this is the gun toting, God loving part of America. They don’t care. Lets blow the levee to save Illinois and flood Missouri.
Obama does not care, maybe some will get it now.

Lucky for the mid west that there is an election looming, or he would just send Biden!
    ?
As one writer to Cafferty mentioned, Bush had to live down the 9 minutes reading “My Pet Goat” while more information came in, but ?bama gets, what, a week, to figure out what to do??? This surely surpasses his most recent temporal faux pas, where he need to “sleep on it” for 16 hours to make the decision whether or not to go after OBL!
    ?
Oh wait!? I forgot the 4-5 years that will be “needed” before ?bamacare will be implemented.? You know, the legislation that was so important, so necessary, so demanding, because the problem just couldn’t wait,? that it had to be passed before anyone could read it (particularly those who voted for it)??
    ?
You can’t make this stuff up.? Hurry up and wait…

The good people of the Midwest will manage quite well without the benefit of a narcissist totalitarian inserting himself further into the minutia of their lives in this time of desperation.? The recovery work will be accomplished, as always, by those able and willing to exert real effort with their own hands, not by men in suits in front of teleprompters voicing faked concern for political gain.
    ?
Symbolically comforting as a president’s attendance might be, what can any president actually do to help the victims of a tornado?? Mr. Obama’s flights will disrupt normal flight operations, his motorcade and entourage will clog the roads and for what, speeches and photo opportunities?? Or is it just another case of Federal usurpation of local and state prerogatives?

I’m about to bet money, Obama will cite the weather problems to “Gore is right”, and we need to send him more tax dollars, to give us more old tired answers, to something we can’t do anything about.

He will just get in the way when he’s there. Of course, his visit is all about re-election photo ops.

Obama was afraid he might get struck by lightening. He did do the right thing by making a fool of himself in the UK. It’s just another “photo op” in Joplin. It’s not like he? would do anything.

  7. kipitwic on May 26, 2011 at 6:27 am

Quite frankly, I think that Obama is showing the true person he is.? He has no empathy for the American people. He is living in his own world where he is a God, and all his behaviors show that.? He has no culture which shows with all the ettiquite blunders he and his wife have made.? I don’t know who his advisors are; but, they seem not to inform him how to greet the other leaders of the world.? He is an embarrassment to the U.S.? I can only pray that thsoe who voted him, will see the error of their ways.? Alas…..those who receive free handouts will still vote for this disgrace of a president.? The people of Joplin are the heros!? They are continuing their lives without a narcistic President interferring in their lives.? He can give no comfort to them that will even remotely be believable.? It will be nothing more than a photo op!? Shame on him and his administration.?

Pres. Obama probably remembers what happened to Pres. Bush when he went to New Orleans and promised what he could not ultimately deliver.

  9. Dimsdale on May 26, 2011 at 12:43 pm

You are probably right: ?bama is really good at not delivering what he promises.
    ?
He could at least pretend he cares though.

Hey Mynoc3, BHO is with his people. He brought them on the planes with him. As he’s shown time and time again he could careless about us peasants.

  11. GdavidH on May 26, 2011 at 1:52 pm

These are not his people. If he shows up for some lip service and a photo-op with the swooning media, he will only confirm what most people in the “flyover” section of this country already believe. BHO is an empty suit.

Why are we surprised when the “King-in-Chief” goes on another extravagant trip yukking it up with Guinness instead of caring for his own countrymen (supposedly)? We already know what he is–now we have to figure out how to get rid of him. I’d rather see him comforting tornado victims than embarrassing all of us with his protocol ineptitude and his wife’s hideous wardrobe!
