There’s a lot about Alan Simpson that just strike me as cranky. But he does force me to think critically. As one of the co-chairs of the Deficit Reduction Commission, I have no doubt that he is sincere in his pledge to cut the deficit down to size, although I hope that includes cutting the government down to size.
