Seattle security guards NOT tasked with providing security – video beating
A violent beating of a 15-year-old girl caught on video in the downtown Seattle Metro bus tunnel is outraging residents and public transportation users. The beating is bad enough, but the three “security” guards who were there did nothing to stop it makes it outrageous.
What’s the point of having the physical presence of guards working in the bus tunnel if they are tasked to exclusively report problems and never intervene? I’d say the victim was specifically staying near the guards for protection. Epic fail. At least they called in the incident when the beating started. The video is courtesy Breitbart.tv.
If these so-called security guards are limited to observation and reporting only, why not put video cameras at the locations where the current guards are positioned, fire most of the guards and have the rest monitor via CCTV and report the problems to the real cops?

The KING 5 Investigators uncovered a disturbing video-tape captured on five different security cameras underneath downtown Seattle.
It shows the graphic beating of a teenage girl in Seattle’s Metro bus tunnel, while uniformed security guards simply look on.
The incident took place at around 7 p.m. on January 28.
When the beating is over, you see on the tape that not one guard bends down to see if the victim is breathing or needs help.
The guards are not trained police officers or Metro Transit employees. They’re contract workers from Olympic Security Services out of Tukwila. According to their contract, the guards are to “observe and report” problems, not to get involved. Metro Transit General Manager Kevin Desmond says that policy is now out of date.
Just now out of date? What, did criminals just start beating on people in January?
