Bribing Customers to Buy A Car

Classic debate today on This Week. Robert Kuttnerand voices his support for bailing out the Big 3. Afterall GM has an electric car coming. George Will’s response is great: using federal money to bribe consumers to buy a car they otherwise wouldn’t. Bribery!

Liberal’s always seem to think throwing money at something will lead to success. Just no sense of free markets.

George Will is the only reason to watch the ABC Talking Airheads. On this show, only Will seems to recognize that markets dictate utilization of any product while subsidies simply stimulate a favored segment or product to the detriment of real progress. David Brooks is conservative only in comparison to Mao.
