Congressman Peter King had been talking about it all day. And last night on Hannity’s program Donald Rumsfeld made the same claim. But you might have expected them to say that waterboarding detainees gained information that was used to get OBL. Dastardly Republicans! But when a hand picked Democrat and former Clinton Chief of Staff says that waterboarding led to the gathering of information it makes you sit up and take notice.
Just as an aside, watch Brian Williams twist and turn as he sasks the question three different ways and then listen how Panetta gives the same answer three times.

As I go through my video I will see if I can find Dianne Feinstein emphatically denying it. It’s a nice bite. But let’s not forget when Dick Durbin and Chris Dodd decried the method. I expect them to renounce the President’s actions on using that info to get OBL, any day now.

Listen to Brian Williams interview with Panetta. He states that “enhanced interrogation techniques” is a “euphorism” for waterboarding. There is no such word as “euphorism”. I’ve listened to it many times and I keep on hearing “euphorism”. Guess Mr. Williams isn’t as sophisticated and educated as he thinks he is.
It is a newsreader’s job to look pretty and parrot what moves through the teleprompter.
