Health care cost savings in Oregon – the assisted suicide option

I want to see the original letter. KATU has the story of Barbara Wagner who has cancer and is looking for health care. She requested a chemotherapy treatment the state considered not worthy for her. They suggested she contact a physician-aid-in-dying counselor – assisted suicide.Hat tip to Ed at Hot Air. You’re going to see more stories about what a government run health care system is going to be like during the rest of the summer. Every story is important. We do not want the federal government involved in health care any more than they already are! I’d prefer they get out of it entirely.

We knew it would come to this when Oregon insisted on passing its assisted-suicide laws. It doesn’t take much for assisted suicide to go from a humane option to a cost-saving device, especially when the state pays for the medical care. One patient in Oregon got a letter that made this all too clear, when in the same letter rejecting her request for life-extending chemotherapy, Oregon offered her “physician-aid-in-dying”. In other words, Oregon offered their customer a heapin’ helping of death.

I called Rosa Di Lauro's Derby office a short time ago. I spoke to the staffer stating that I was disheartened as I was barred from attending her private Health Care meeting– I had concerns I wished to discuss. Staffer said it was Dodd's meeting–I said that had nothing to do with it, I wanted Di Lauro, she represents us, not Pelosi, Emmanuel, etc. She represents us–is she afraid of us, is she hiding behind Dodd and therefore a coward. He hung up on me.

Is that the message Represenatives wish to give us, see it my way or I will dismiss you and hang up on you?

Hmm- secret meetings, private town halls, secret testimony concerning Dodd's financial transgressions….no upproar in the Lamestreet Media.

I am trying to picture the same reaction if the name Cheney or Bush was swapped for far left liberal Chris Dodd. No, I don't think so.

Hey Chris Dodd- go back home to Iowa.

Obamacare sounds like an expensive version of Veterinary care. Get your old cat put down, get your old mother-in-law put down, golly, does it apply to old, infirm Senators?

  4. phil says:

Gee, Obamacare is sounding a lot like an expensive version Veterinary care. Have your old cat put down, have sick people put down.  What a world!
