George Will: Hey, that State of the Union … it’s nothing more than stroking erogenous zones

Well … I think he’s right. Afterall, most of these speeches ultimatelty are “pep rallies”. But not just for the party in power, although that most assuredly is the biggest draw. But also for the American people. Still aren’t we past this?

So when you tune in tomorrow night will you be looking for the President to stroke your political erogenous zones? Insert applause here.

Donna Brazile does her best to put the best spin on this … it’s for the people … but is it what the people really ned to hear from their President. I’m with Will. Send a memo to Congress.

Democrat presidents speeches in poor economic cycles are usually interesting because they rarely have any factual accomplishments. Their policies do not allow them to actually create jobs, as that would entail cutting taxes or curtailing programmatic red tape, etc. He really can't pawn off heathcare or the failed bailout – I predict vague feel-good stories and insults to our intelligence at every turn.

Jim, I attended a State of the Union Speech and a "pep rally" breaks out………….."Sarc".

  3. Oh dear God, allow us to survive the manipulation of our political minds; Obama's writers shall try hard to stroke us but we must have the strength to overcome such political desires.

Close your eyes, never look him in the face, listen intently but without feeling, then breath deeply, regain your composure; then go about the restoration of our country; this State of the Union experience has been nothing more than a small bump in the road, go over it without disturbance.

The condescending Ms. Amanpour may not even have erogenous zones or appears to perhaps never have had them stoked except politically, so she was quite taken aback by Mr. Will's cogent and incisive characterization.  I understand there is a basketball game being broadcast on the radio at the time of the speech.  I think I'll become a basketball fan for one evening.

A literal thrill up the leg to be had by all!  I hope Chris Matthews keeps both hands on top of the desk! Unless, of course, like most liberals, he's watching from his bathtub ;)  This will be a major stress test on our nation's infrastructure- all of those toilets flushing during commercial breaks and all of those bathtubs draining during the Republican Response… I hope the elites have 911 on speed dial, because they're sure to hear someone blaspheme their messiah!

A vision?  In order to see, ya need to take those blinders off first.  Do I really even care about Obama's vision anymore?  I used to have a specific image in my mind of my country and he's blighted it with the "vision" he brought to his presidency.  This guy can't focus long enough to come up with a vision for this country that he'll follow through on.  It's like a spastic game of "I Spy" with Obama and his "first prioritieS".
