When the going gets tough…

… the tough get their golf clubs?????

Whilst other world leaders are showing leadership and trying to do the hard work of addressing the problems in Libya, Dear Leader Barak Obama was busy addressing a golf ball in his sixtieth round of golf.

From Human Events:

Addressing the House of Commons, Cameron said, “We will not rule out military assets.  We will not tolerate this regime using military force against its own people.  This is an illegitimate regime which has lost the support of its people.  To that end, I have asked the Ministry of Defense to look into the no-fly zone.  Our message to Colonel Qaddafi is simple: go now.”

Thus does the burden of leadership pass from an inert American White House.  The post-American century is full of little surprises.

Meanwhile back in Obamaland, Keith Koffler at WhiteHouseDossier.com notes…

According to statistics compiled by CBS News White House correspondent Mark Knoller, who keeps close tabs on the president’s activities, Obama played 30 rounds in 2010, 28 rounds in 2009, and two this year, including today.

George W. Bush gave up golfing in 2003, explaining why he did it in a 2008 interview with POLITICO.

“I don’t want some mom whose son may have recently died to see the commander in chief playing golf,” he said. “I feel I owe it to the families to be in solidarity as best as I can with them. And I think playing golf during a war just sends the wrong signal.”

Some think Obama should follow Bush’s example. But Obama clearly is addicted to the game and probably feels he needs to play to get his mind off of Washington, generally choosing the company of young administration staffers instead of lawmakers or senior aides.

Sadly, I’m not even sure if Barry has it in him to show competent followership, let alone leadership.

UPDATE (Jim): As Mary Katherine Ham pointed out last night … Obama votes present.

If Obama needs to get his mind off of Washington, my suggestion is that he pack his bags and head back to Chicago.  As I said in Jim's post, unless Obama has a plan for Libya we should stay out of there.  He's all talk and no action.  He merely says what he thinks people want to hear him say.  Just another form of dishonesty.

Obama turns to his brain trust: William Ayers and Rev. Wright.

To use an appropriate golf metaphor – "No mulligan in 2012."

Barry is a poseur.  Murphy said that an ounce of image is worth a pound of performance- and for many voters that's as deep as it gets.  Chris Matthews got a thrill up his leg simply by the imagery of our first openly mulatto president boarding Marine 1…  Or was it a warm drip down his leg?  And the NPR clown actually professes that liberals are smarter than us paleo-cons?
