WaPo’s Chris Cillizza: If you love America you will root for Butler

I think there’s a bit of hyperbole here but what the heck … he said it. One more reason to skip The Washington Post.

Chris Cillizza, one of the big names at the Washington Post and MSNBC, decides to wade into sports. Why not? The President did. Here’s hoping Cillizza is as successful. He makes special note he’s from Connecticut but hey, but hey, apparently that doesn’t matter much. Listen closely to why he’s rooting for Butler. Underdog?

I wonder if this means he’ll be rooting for the Republican challenger this year.

Now the Huskies gotta go to D.C. and get drooled on by Barry.  Unintended consequences, indeed.

Bread and circus, to distract and placate the masses.

Typical lefty that compares apples to oranges.  He obviously does not know how much of an underdog UConn was in the whole tournament.  A team consisting of 7 Freshmen, 2 Sophomores, 2 juniors and 2 Seniors…a very young team.  Now, let's compare that to the great team from Butler: 3 freshmen, 3 Sophomores, 3 Juniors, 5 Seniors.

Coach Calhoun and these young men have every reason to be proud, they were not suppose to be there and yet they were.

Coach Stevens and the Butler men can too.

Congrats to the UConn men for winning the NCAA men's college basketball championship. THANKS for the wonderful ride UConn men!

Both UConn and Butler had shown what teams regarded as underdogs can do. Best wishes also to both Coach Stevens and the Butler men's team.

NH-Jim's got the answer! In the pre-season poll Butler was 18th.

UConn had NO ONE voting them top 25. As usual, the talking heads

speaking on what they know nothing about!

I'm not a basketball fan so unlike Chris Cillizza, I never make predictions. But, I do congratulate winners who played one fantastic Tournament, UCONN you were NUMBER ONE! Thanks for making UCONN fans and just plain sportsfans proud!
