Walter E Williams Tuesday 9:30am

Once again we will be honored to have Prof. Williams as a guest on our show at 9:30 AM. Prof. Williams, who teaches economics at George Mason University, will be speaking about his two new books, his autobiography,”Up From the Projects”, and “Race and Economics: How Much Can Be Blamed on Discrimination”

I finished both books over the July 4 holiday and I easily give both books 5 stars. Of the two “Up From the Projects” is by far and away my favorite because it’s the personal side of Walter E Williams, how he learned his work ethic from his single mother,  learning not just the value of the dollar, but how to make a dollar, and stared down discrimination with what can only be described as a strong sense of humor and steely strength going on to seize educational opportunity and become one of the great conservative economists of our time.

His newest book “Race and Economics: How Much Can Be Blamed on Discrimination” is a real eye-opener. He traces employment and economic opportunity for African-Americans over the country’s 200 year history, and how the minimum wage, organized labor, and liberal politicians in the name of racial equality drove up African-American unemployment and destroyed African-American opportunity.

What gives this book so much impact is not so much that it is professor William’s opinion, but that it is backed up with facts and figures and draws from numerous news reports from various periods throughout the nation’s history.

Prof. Williams will be joining us to talk about both books and about how a poor African-American who grew up in the projects of Philadelphia went on to become one of this nation’s greatest economic thinkers.

As the Sound of Sister said today when I spoke with her, both book should be required reading in every high school in the country. I agree.

    @TomL:? Amen!
    And Jim, I can’t wait to listen with both of my ears today.? I love Professor Williams…now, that man is a genius & I plan to read both of his books on your recommendation.
    William McGowan wrote a fantastic book, published in 2003, Coloring the News:? How Political Correctness Has Corrupted American Journalism.? It’s one of my favorites for obvious reasons.
