Video-Israeli Navy Raid on six ship aid flotilla

It’s a nightmare for Israel, and information is still coming in. But based on the four reports I have read so far it appears as if this “peace” flotilla was meant to either show the world it could break a blockade or turn the world against Israel, which these days, wouldn’t be hard. It’s the latter that occurred. But the video clearly shows these peace activists were anything but peaceful.

From Yahoo News:

Israeli commandos rappelled down to an aid flotilla sailing to thwart a Gaza blockade on Monday, clashing with pro-Palestinian activists on the lead ship in a botched raid that left at least nine passengers dead.

The high-seas confrontation was a nightmare scenario for Israel, which insisted its soldiers were simply unprepared for what awaited them on the Mavi Marmara, the ship carrying 600 of the 700 activists headed for Gaza. Instead of carrying their regular automatic rifles, the Israelis said they went in with non-lethal paintball guns and pistols they never expected to use.

Israel intercepted the six ships carrying some 10,000 tons of aid for the isolated seaside territory, which has been blockaded by Israel for three years, with Egypt’s cooperation. The Israeli government had urged the flotilla not to try to breach the blockade before the ships set sail from waters off Cyprus on Sunday and offered to take some aid in for them.

An offer was made to allow the ships to dock in Israel where the cargo would be searched and then allowed to continue to Gaza, but the flotilla refused and that’s when all hell breaks loose. The raid takes place in International waters but I am not sure that makes a difference. Or does it? Israel says that the some of the group on the ships had ties to terrorism.

“We regret the loss of life,” Netanyahu said in Ottawa during a meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

But he insisted the Israeli forces had acted to defend themselves, telling reporters later that the flotilla was seeking to smuggle into Gaza rockets or other weapons to attack the Jewish state.

The raid by Israel troops “was to prevent the infiltration of thousands of rockets, missiles and other arms that could hit our cities, communities or people,” the Israeli leader said

This story is still developing. You can watch the video of the raid.

What most Americans do not take the time to think. DUH! Tick, tock . . .

Oh ya, Israel attacking a relief ship in international waters. (Duh, what is an international whatever, is that like Perrier water?)

What most of the meat-heads out there don't realize is that "relief ship" could be described as an "arms replenishment convoy." Also, just why did the sixth (6th) ship put up such a violent resistance? All of you international maritime lawyers out there know that Israel was perfectly justified in boarding ALL of the ships proceeding to its coast — in defiance of its long-stated and much publicized blockade of Gaza — according to international maritime law. Turkey, Egypt, and whoever else knew that up front.

And no, I am not a Zionist. I am not even Jewish. But, I do recognize the right of Israel to exist and to defend itself. I will bet that once the 6th ship is examined, there will be uncovered a hold full of weapons and not just for the immediate use of the ship against sea monsters.  The ship will be found to be carrying weapons for use against Israel. Of course, detractors will claim that the Israelis somehow put the contraband there, possibly while fast-roping from their helicopters. Sure.

Now for the meat heads out there, Israel is the only friendly country that the U.S. can count on for defense in that part of the world. Just one lo0k at a map of the region will confirm to those who are willing to be enlightened that all of the other countries around Israel have at one time or another tried to eradicate Israel ; meat heads, find a couple of history books and learn something for a change.

So, what does it mean that Israel is our only friend in the region? That "aid convoy" could have been heading for America, where we live. To a certain degree, the Israelis are a buffer for what would otherwise be attacks against the U.S. and they are an "early-warning system" for us. They take many of the hits that are directed ultimately against us. They are our beacon, our bell-weather and our harbinger of bad things to come for the U.S.

Our government will never disclose just how many times the Israelis have given us, not without some strings attached mind you, vital intelligence for our war on terror. We may have suffered over 3,000 casualties on 9/11 each of whom we mourn yet but, the overall body-count would be much higher without Israel as a friendly country over the years. Think about it, no matter how much it hurts to exercise those brain cells.

Much of the same logic and facts can be applied to Afghanistan. We fight the Taliban and Al Quaida in their homeland or, we fight them here. My vote is to fight them where they live, no matter what the current occupant of the White House says (and does another thing).

Think about it. We need a friend in the Mid-east.

While President Obama keeps throwing Israel under the bus, this same Israel is fighting as always, to keep the light of freedom going in the Middle East.

Israel has every right to defend herself!!! Do not be surprise when Israel retaliates! They will wipe out all their local enemies and enlarge their borders which is their absolute right! They know that they are alone and will not hesitate to fight (Zech 12:6-9)! They will soon show their strong arm and a Leader from Europe will have to strongly strengthen a treaty with them and their enemies Dan 9:27). The treaty will be to hold them back. Then and only then will they have temporary peace (Ezek 37, 38).

icture is much bigger than us (Eph 6:12) Have faith in God and His Word!

The Day of the Lord is at hand! This is not a crazy statement made by a crazy nut. Things are working out just as God said they would. As the world abandons Israel including the Obama administration and America… all is setting the stage for the Day of the Lord and the final global battle of Battle of Armageddon (Zech 14:2, Rev 16:13-16). It is happening right before our eyes… but who will see?

"Shot with their own guns" says they didn't just have paint ball equipment.

Anyone who thought the peace flotilla was not going to protect itself must surely see reality now, especially when it was on offense.

Keeping weapons from your enemies with a blockade sounds reasonable to me.

Both sides are fighting for what they believe in.

Time for us Americans to learn from this.   We are not in a sitcom.  This is not just a sporting event.  We have to make value judgements about the America we want and what we are willling to sacrifice to make that happen.  The time is now, the clock is ticking.

If you put aside trying to figure out who the good guys and the bad guys are here, you may see two traumatized peoples: one at the hands of  the civilized so-called Christian nations of central Europe, the others by the loss of their homeland and continued displacement. It is tragic that both peoples are victims. It is more so because both are victims of victims, and the cycle continues while the world tries to figure out who started it. It is tragedy for two of world's most remarkable peoples. Pray for them both.

What business does Israel have invading this ship in the first place? Were there arms or rockets found on any of the ships?  And you can bet that if you repel on to a ship from a helicopter that someone is going to fight back. (unless you are off the coast of Africa then you have to just let the pirates do what they want).  What were they expecting would happen? How did the Israeli militants get the paint out of their uniforms when they were shot with their own paint guns? I hope it was water soluble.
