Video from the St. Joseph’s Cathedral (Hartford, Conn.) fire on Dec. 31, 1956

For those of you who are Hartford history buffs, here is color video shot by either my dad and/or grandfather of the St. Joseph’s Cathedral fire on Dec. 31, 1956.

I’m pretty certain this video has not been seen by those outside of our family before today. It was shot with 8mm film and transferred to VHS, and then DVD within the last decade. In the hunt for video footage from the aftermath of hurricanes making landfall in Rhode Island in the mid-50s, I found this.
