Vicevich describes recent Lupus fight on Fox 61

As many of you probably figured out, Jim’s Lupus flared up significantly about two weeks ago and he’s been off the air for some time. He was in the hospital for a good portion of last week, and returned home last weekend. He plans to be back on the air Monday morning at 9 a.m. ET.

Along with Dr. Michael Grey, chief of medicine from the Hospital of Central Connecticut, Jim discussed Lupus during a segment with Logan Byrnes this morning on FOXCT. Click the image and you’ll be routed over to the FOXCT site to watch the clip, you’ll see a 15 second commercial prior to the interview.

I’m so glad to hear that Jim’s turned a corner & is feeling better (whatever qualifies as “better” with lupus).? It can’t be easy, but there’s a whole bunch of us pullin’ & prayin’ for him…
Rest up this w/e, Jim, if you plan on hitting the airwaves on Monday.? Great ed piece on Fox…especially asking employers to understand and support their employees with lupus.? And many thanks to TIC for sticking by you.
Can’t wait for you to come back! 🙂

Jim, I’m praying for you…… now, where can I donate for a cure to this terrible disease??

  9. crystal4 on November 19, 2011 at 7:22 am

It WAS a very informative interview. Most people don’t have a clue about lupus and about how debilitating a flare up can be.

Thanks for sharing the video. I am a nurse and am aware of Lupus and know several people who have it. I have Rheumatiod Arthritis, another autoimmune disease, that as you are probably aware attacks joints. In fact my Rheumatologist is Melinda Ramsby, who was mentioned in the video. She is a fantastic doctor.
I wish you all the best and hope that for your sake and mine they find out more about these strange autoimmune diseases and how to better treat them.?
Feel better, I’ll?remember you in my prayers. Cheryl??

It’s amazing to see Jim smiling in the face of adversity.? He probably laughed too- but no responsible editor would let that through 🙂

My prayers to Mr. Vicevich.? I hope he’s not in too much pain.? The interview revealed allot to us and his bravery.?

You know, Jim, that first day you weren’t on the air,? I thought uh oh, I hope everything’s all right. As the days went by, and no Jim on the air, I figured it was bad, because you don’t miss your show this long for anything.
Thankful you’ve improved. Thanks for sharing the info.
    Keeping you in my prayers.

Glad you’re back!? A pox on Lupus, let’s hope you’ve escaped it’s wrath now, once and for all. Pull harder, Jim. Ok I’m kidding work from 9 AM til noon and then siesta.?

  25. just sayin on November 22, 2011 at 12:54 am

I will pray for your good health and the wisdom and skill of your medical team. ?You poured yourself into getting us through the storm, Jim, and all the while I held some concern whether you should be working so hard to help us. ?We are blessed to have you in our lives as you do us such service. ?On day-one of your absence, I got a bad feeling that your Lupus had flared.? Because I’ve respected your informative work from the day I first caught your economics report on Channel 3, then 30, then 24, then TIC 1080, to me, you’re right up there with the great Bob Steele.???Thank you for your grace in sharing with the public about Lupus to help us appreciate what you and others endure. ?Blessings.
