United Nations under impression nuclear Israel is THE threat

That’s right, Israel – which everyone assumes has nuclear weapons – is the threat to be concerned with in the Middle East. At least that is what the IAEA’s Mohamed ElBaradei said during a visit to Iran this past weekend. Never mind that Israel has had plenty of nuclear bombs for about 40 years and has not shown any interest in using them proactively.

ElBaradei, the director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), spoke on Sunday

… ElBaradei said Sunday that “Israel is number one threat to Middle East” with its nuclear arms, the official IRNA news agency reported.

At a joint press conference with Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization chief Ali Akbar Salehi in Tehran, ElBaradei brought Israel under spotlight and said that the Tel Aviv regime has refused to allow inspections into its nuclear installations for 30 years, the report said.

“Israel is the number one threat to the Middle East given the nuclear arms it possesses,” ElBaradei was quoted as saying.

So ElBaradei is in Iran at a joint press conference complaining that Israel has not allowed the goofballs at the IAEA to inspect the Israeli’s nuclear program? Hey Mohamed, you’re a tool. Iran’s been jerking your chain for years and now you’re happy Iran will only have four weeks to move some stuff around and hide it from your inspectors?

What they heck is wrong with this picture?

Last month, Iran confirmed that it is building a new nuclear fuel enrichment plant near its northwestern city of Qom. In reaction, the IAEA asked Tehran to provide detailed information and access to the new nuclear facility as soon as possible.

On Sunday, ElBaradei said the UN nuclear watchdog would inspect Iran’s new uranium plant near Qom on Oct. 25.

Taking ElBaradei’s point, does that mean the United States is the second biggest threat to the Middle East since we have nuclear weapons that could be launched from just about anywhere and hit targets, well, just about anywhere?

Also writing on the subject is Gateway Pundit and Atlas Shrugs. Waiting to hear John Bolton blow a gasket somewhere. We need more like Bolton informing us about foreign policy.

At a time when there is a growing nuclear threat from Iran, it seems the international community is going in the wrong direction by going after Isreal.
