Unemployment remains at 9.7% – SNAFU

This morning the Bureau of Labor Statistics released March unemployment numbers indicating the unemployment rate stayed at 9.7 percent.

From the released report, with a hat tip to Ed Morrissey at Hot Air. Update below: Underemployment measured at 20 percent-plus by Gallup.

Nonfarm payroll employment increased by 162,000 in March, and the unemployment rate held at 9.7 percent, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Temporary help services and health care continued to add jobs over the month. Employment in federal government also rose, reflecting the hiring of temporary workers for Census 2010. Employment continued to decline in financial activities and in information.

I really do not have time for comment this morning, but Limbaugh has frequently mentioned Obama administration rhetoric is setting the stage to redefine current unemployment rates as “normal” which bugs me.  Soon, they will be defining lower health care quality and services, an open border, higher taxes and federal control of our diet as normal too.

I’m assuming readers are familiar with the acronym SNAFU?

More from a Gallup poll of more than 20,000 adults (over 18) during the month of March.

Gallup Daily tracking finds that 20.3% of the U.S. workforce was underemployed in March — a slight uptick from the relatively flat January and February numbers.

Now just think of what it would have been like without the "stimulus" package!  ROTFLMAO!

Small adjustment Steve:  SNAFU, yes, but FUBAR since Obambi took office.  And getting worse.

If you recall Christina Groaner's comments at the start of the year, she was claiming unemployment was going to fall as the year progesses. Massive numbers of people hired for the census was supposed to bring down the unemployment numbers . Castrocare has pulled the scabs of the wounded economy and more blood letting is at hand.

This is all normal in the day of a socialist.  Were the unemployment numbers during Carter's administration "normal" or did the populace back then have the where withal to know that they had a lousy president/administration?  If only the socialists hadn't been hammering away at us since the 70s, maybe people would still get seriously uppity about a lousy president and start demanding answers and changes that we actually want.  Obama doesn't get to decide for me what's important.  And that three letter word – j-o-b-s – is still at the top of my list!
