Uh Oh

Scott Rasmussen on Fox this afternoon speaks to his poll and Obama’s sinking numbers. Notic Scott’s little laugh at the start as if there’s really some question as to why his numbers are sinking fast. Worse for the Democrats says Scott, are the numbers for Congress. 1994?

I’m not so sure. 15 months is a long time and the vast majority of the electorate  are not crazy about politicians in general and Scott points that out, rightly so. But … given a choice between big spending Dems on steroids and the possibility of Republicans who hopefully have learned their lesson .. well, we’ll see.

yep yep, the wheels are loosening, and maybe even beginning to fall off.  But, admittedly I would like to see some strong conservatives emerge in the next 12 months to knock these pompous elitists right out of the cart.

Don't worry, Obaa will find a way to make it work – remember, he's God – check that, actually, Chris Matthews just anointed the previous Dem President as God on today's show:

Even Chris is bailing on the Bamster, it looks like!

The wheels are coming off this careening, out of control administration, but it is our responsibility to take the keys and throw them into the woods, or better, down the sewer drain.

If the Republicans want to get back into power (we will worry about them screwing it up again later), then they need to pound home the message that Obama doesn't know what he is doing, the deficit is astronomical, and the very fabric of our country is being unraveled by these charlatans.  Hit the message every single day, every single interview, every single sound bite right up to the elections.  Remind voters why Democrats can't be trusted with the economy, the war, health care, banking, car companies, anything!!  At Christmas, remind them why you aren't buying as many presents this year.  At tax time, remind them what their taxes will be when the Bush tax cuts are allowed to expire, or what happens when the CBO's predictions come true.  Hit them over the head on the day we stop working for the government and start working for ourselves again.

There are tons of really neat commercials that could be made, if they are smart enough to get off their duffs and do it.

I have little doubt that the Dems will provide even more fodder for the elections as the days roll by, particularly with a really poorly performing Christmas season.

The wheels came off the Pres. Bush wagon too, and nothing came of it: he finished his term and now he's retired in TX.

Oh, I strongly disagree Sammy22, something came of it, we got Obama, Pelosi and Reid running this country.  So yes, Obama will get his 4 years also, but only 2 with the Congress & Senate on his side.  Then, its over and the real work of bringing the politicians back in our country's interest starts.

  6. sammy22 on September 1, 2009 at 12:28 pm

Darlene, what did expect? Another Republican President? And Pelosi, Reid were already there.

  7. Darlene on September 2, 2009 at 4:08 pm

Sammy, I was sure hoping.  That was my "hope and change" vote.   I know this much … there are a lot of people with voters remorse today, and its because they voted for Obama.  And, Sammy … in case you want to go there, its not because he is black its because he is a horrible President.

Darlene, I don't have to go anywhere. Yours and other people's words tell what you  think.

But Bush's "wheels" came off about six or seven years into his presidency.  Obama has managed to exceed any of Bush's screwups in a mere seven months.  He is living up to all the warnings that were given (not by the media of course) prior to his election.  And let us not forget that the lug nuts of the economy were taken off by the Democrats, who, in their zeal to crush Bush, sacrificed the health of the economy (which as Congress, they had complete control of…), giving us what we have today.  Some of it was pure ineptitude, such as the Fannie and Freddie debacles shepherded by Dodd and Frank, but the bulk of it was intentional.

Gee Dimsdale, where was Pres. Bush when all this stuff was going on? And the Republicans were in control for seven years. Can the Dems really do so much damage in such a short time? And how come the Republicans, when they are in charge, cannot do anything about the such things as healthcare?? They just let things go and we know what we've got.

Darlene, "Chris is bailing on the Bamster, it looks like!" – he must miss those thrills going up his legs (which sounded kind of gross to me anyway).

Sammi – we can argue Bush vs. Democrats for ever.  Even though I liked Bush (for reasons that are not necessarily understandable to many) for the sake of the country, it would now be better to have a FISCALLY RESPONSIBLE leader in charge.  That's why I voted for Bloomberg last election.  He's not beholden to any political party or subject to influence by pacs (took a dollar in salary).  Ok, so on some issues he may be dubious, but this country desperately needs someone in there who will pull in the reins fiscally and really act like a grown-up, without fear or favor.

  12. sammy22 on September 6, 2009 at 4:09 am

@gillie28 et al. There is much too much wishing that things could be different than they are. No one benefits from avoiding reality: Pres. Obama is with us for at least 3 more years. It no longer matters that Pres. Bush was around for 8 years or if he was god, bad or indifferent.  Evey one has their definition of  "fiscally responsible" anyway.

  13. gillie28 on September 6, 2009 at 7:18 am

sammi, not sure I know what your point is.  I hardly think the current administration is being and congress is being "fiscally responsible" by anyone's "definition."  Just like the left protested Bush's 8 years on a continual basis, Obama's tenure can also be protested in a reasonable manner, as deemed necessary – that's also reality.

  14. sammy22 on September 6, 2009 at 11:03 am

Go ahead and protest. Perhaps Congress will pay attention. Still we'll be looking for "fiscal responsibility". Give your defintion of "fiscal responsibility", not just a label. Then we can see how it can be applied the situation the country is in.
