The Fix Is In

My heart sinks.

“Off the record, every suspicion you have about MSM being in the tank for O is true. We have a team of 4 people going thru dumpsters in Alaska and 4 in arizona. Not a single one looking into Acorn, Ayers or Freddiemae. Editor refuses to publish anything that would jeopardize election for O”

Read the whole thing. I am embarrassed to say I worked in this industry for more than 20 years. And depressed. Obama supporters may smile with glee but I assure you as a former reporter this is so bad for the country in the long term it is hard to fathom. America’s watchdog … the people that the American people depend on to make an informed choice, have betrayed your trust. And I can assure you I have seen it myself in years past … just not this bad.

All I can do is echo your sentiments. I‘ve been out of the news business for many years, but was once proud to be part of it. This is depressing…and frightening.

Do you think it could become as bad as described by “The Anchoress?” Would the Dems really try to eliminate all dissenting voices? I'd like to think the American people would never allow it to happen…

Glenn Reynolds over at Instapundit closes with this comment.

"I think they're [MSM] willing to pull out all the stops because they realize this is the last election where they have a chance at swinging things this way. No point saving your credibility for the future when you don't have a future, I guess . . . ."

In my years a voter, I have not seen or heard the intense & extreme hatred from the TV, printed media & other voters. I cannot have a civil discussion w/"O" supporters. I end up facing an attach ranging from mild, to OMG I am bruised & have a head ache. On http://sistertoldjah.com/ scroll down to the 2nd page dated 9/28/2008 12:09 pm titled How “tolerant” far left liberals in NYC treat conservatives. It is a video of a group of McCain supporters marching in upper Manhattan. It shows the reaction of “O” supporters….It is shocking & truly frightening. I urge people to take a look at this web site & this vidio.

Whilst in graduate school, I cultivated several friends in the Journalism department and the group-think there was disturbing. Unfortunately, one of my friends pointed out it was not unique. IIRC, he related surveys to me that most (somewhere between two-thirds and three-quarters) of journalists get into the business to "change the world."

Once upon a time, journalism was a trade, not a profession. Reporters would get the pertinent facts and present them to professional "re-write" men. No one was out to change the world. The blame lies somewhere between Woodward & Bernstein and Walter Duranty's cover-up of the Soviet Union's manufactured famine in the Ukraine. Duranty proved you could lie big and get away with it. W&B did their jobs and ran down the facts in an extraordinary story… but the wrong lesson was learned. W&B did not set out to change the world — they set out to get a story. The story changed the world.

    Liberal journalists miss that nuance.

Yes YES>>>McCain finally McCain is fighting back…now all of you who write in this forum…begin the "revolution" by writing to all the news media w/complaints of their extreem LEFT bias and tell them U will NOT watch or read anything they produce. Bombard them NOW….MSNBC …CNN…etc….this is a more productive "revolution" then dumping tea in the river.

    Come on…let's go….put your words & writing to productive use….fight back….I did ….
