The FDA strikes again
Obamacare called for calorie count information to be posted on menus of chain restaurants with more than 20 locations, and, on vending machines if the owner of the machine owned more than 20 machines. Now, the Food and Drug Administration which is in charge of writing regulations covering that section of Obamacare has drastically expanded “calorie count information” far beyond what was included in the law.
The FDA plans to require calorie info for the following:
airlines, trains, grocery-store food courts, movie theaters and convenience stores that qualify as chains. Within grocery stores, the agency said, it is considering including salad bars, store bakeries, pizza bars and delicatessens.

American Airlines says it doesn’t offer printed menus in the main cabin for international flights, where traditional meal service often is still available…
Isn’t it bad enough that airlines nickle and dime passengers as it is. Now, there will no doubt be a “calorie information menu fee” added to your airplane ticket charges.
This really is government run amok.

Remember the picture of Michelle Øbama serving people in a soup kitchen, and the allegedly poor recipients taking pictures of her with their camera equipped cell phones?
Actually, Soup Kitchens will be exempt. After all, they'll be run by the Obumbler himself and we all know, when it comes to the Anointed one. "It's do as I say,not as I do". Remember, we can't just turn our thermostats to 72 degrees and expect everyone else in the world to foot the bill.

Not to get too far off subject…remember the Ct. story run by channel 8 about the mother of a special needs student who was not getting to school in time for her subsidized breakfast because the bus was constantly late??? SHE had the time and one of those great phones to record the bus being late, BUT…She could not feed her daughter friggin' breakfast.
That crap drives me and my Tracphone nuts!!!
Why can't they feed their kids breakfast if they get Food Stamps, now Food Assistance with a Debit card. What do they spend that (my tax money) money on…. oh the parents steaks and lobster.
Getting back to the original subject, who is going to pay for all this research and labelling the companies will have to post? You and me.
That free airline meal just got verrrrrry expensive. Hey, how much fat can SIX PEANUTS possibly contain? It doesn't matter in the end, because those SIX PEANUTS will cost the equivalent of a SIX LB. bag of cashews once the FDA slaps a label on them.
This labeling frenzy they're going on is NOT free, and quite frankly, it's insulting. Presumably, some of us read labels, and some of us do not. This reminds me of Obama's "insurance for everyone!" & "college for everyone!" It's now morphed into "Labels for everyone!" Do I detect the odor of socialism in the air? A-HA!
