The American Dream turns nightmare

I suppose this is not surprising, but depressing nonetheless. Of course there’s video to go with this. I could not let the opportunity pass.

According to “The Hill”‘s midterm election poll just one in four Americans still believe the “American Dream” is still attainable. I guess I can understand the thinking here. When unemployment has held above 9% for a record 14 months ( worst since the, umm, great depression) people tend to get down. Is this my new reality?

Just one in every four voters in 10 battleground House districts says the American Dream is “still there for everyone,” while four in 10 say the dream exists “only for some people,” according to The Hill 2010 Midterm Election Poll.

Younger voters expressed more optimism than older ones, and men were more upbeat than women. Notably, black voters voiced more optimism than whites, a finding that underscores polling trends since Barack Obama’s election as the nation’s first African-American president.

Well, youngins have more time to toil for the state with the hope that their utopia will be realized, as promised by their leader and their bearded Marxist professors. Little do they know, as I realized after graduating, that the utopia of which they speak is really a morass shared by all. No wait. Not by all. By most, except the elite.
