You probably have seen video of Howard Dean at Rep. Jim Moran’s (D- Va.) town hall meeting on Aug. 25. What you probably have not seen is the video from outside the school where a school security officer demanded a protester put his sign down. Did this use to be America? The officer states “it aint no more, OK?” Read more
Never have I been happier to see a RINO leave the conservative movement then when Arlen Specter switched sides. Arrogance on parade. This is a series of bites from the Pennsylvania Senator’s town hall on health care, because I couldn’t just pick one.
The first get’s a H/T from HotAir. I couldn’t link to the video so I compressed my own. But you must link to Ed Morrissey’s take on this. His work is amazing. The best line is when he says “I don’t have to be here.” Well no. Choice!
This second clip is a two fer and my favorite. It starts with a man who tells Specter to just scrap a lousy plan … and then followed by a young woman who charges Specter to follow the constitution and health care ain’t in it. Let me just draw your attention to two key parts.
Two money lines in this one. At the 2 minute mark he’s asked about future input on any bill and he says … I’ll be back in a year. Then at 2:34 when he’s asked about HR 3400 (The Republican plan) he says he doesn’t know about it. It’s followed by a young woman who speaks for all of us.
It took a while but Specter seemed to be getting the message. But his off hand and unconscious response in those parts …combined with the first bite spell arrogance.
Finally let me say to anyone cruising this post …. these people came armed an ready. They have read the bill. No one was hired. It wasn’t necessary. The Democrats saw to that.
This starts out bad for McCaskill, when she attempts to pull a fast and loose one on an audience that knows what its talking about. But she rescues herself at the end. It’s a perfect example of a Senator who finds herself confronted with contituents who have actually read the bill. She thinks she can pull off a fast one … but she gets caught.
But the most discouraging part of this conversation comes at the very end as she explaines the hundreds of amendments to the health care bill that have been added and will be added and there will be no opportunity to any of us to fight back then. None. We are screwed. Take the time to watch the whole thing.
Hope and change!
Update: Arlen Specter got the chance to answer a similar question except he faced a person who had the bill in hand. “Don’t worry, if you don’t want an abortion you won’t have to pay.” Convinced?
The falacy behind this answer of course is that there absolutely no way to seperate the cash in a big Federal pot. You in the public plan … abortion will be paid for.
Yesterday, we told you to watch out for the thugs since unions working at the behest of President Obama were planning to “step in” to set the record straight. None of this does any good for the cause, since the media is now focused on the yelling and face slaps and not the issue. But anyway, here’s a wrap up of news from last night.
