Dick Durbin slams the rich, Dave Ramsey fires back

It’s getting rough out there my little hostage takers. The name calling continues and the latest installment comes from Dick Durbin who invokes Dickens’ A Christmas Carol to take a shot at those evil rich people. Well last night on Cavuto, Dave Ramsey had just about enough … and the rest, as they say, is history. Enjoy. Read more

Senator Judd Gregg schools MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell on taxes

Much is being made of the cost of the Obama tax compromise. The left in particular is taking aim on extending the Bush tax rates for “millionaires and billionaires.” The lefty press is quick to point out what they perceive as hypocrisy on the part of Republicans. After all, extending the tax rates will “cost the government” $400 billion and $140 billion for the millionaires. Not so says Judd Gregg. It’s your, “It’s not your money” quote of the day. Read more

Obama: I had to negotiate with those”hostage takers” … aka: Republicans

Obama’s most incredible statement comes in response to a question by NBC’s Chuck Todd who asks the President to respond to the Democrat Progressive wing that finds the Obama compromise outrageous, among other things. The President’s weak response is hardly Presidential, but then that should not surprise you. The only thing missing here is “The devil made me do it.” Read more

Obama and Republicans strike deal to save tax rates, unemployment checks UPDATE: Video up

Forgive me for being underwhelmed. The Republicans held all the cards and I don’t see this as much of a victory for the conservative way as a victory for politicians. But still, the tax rates will remain in force for those making more than $200,000 a year and unemployment benefits will be extended another year. Read more

For Democrats, tax cuts are ‘expensive’ – Hogwash, government is expensive

Austan Goolsbee is a con artist who is a professional at playing the class warfare card. Goolsbee, President Obama’s chair of the Council on Economic Advisors, created a White House video trying to get those of us who make less than $200,000 a year ticked off at the rich folk. Dan Mitchell picks Goolsbee apart point-by-point in a recent video from the Center for Freedom and Prosperity Foundation.

Well, if he holds to that promise, it would be a refreshing change from the weenies who used to call themselves Republicans. As promised, the video of the Boehner video. Read more

Your Krauthammer Moment: No tax cuts, no budget, they’re incompetent

It’s the Democrats he’s talking about, mostly because they are in charge, with huge majorities. But wait there’s more. Vast numbers of that huge majority sided with the Republicans … retain the Bush Tax rates across the board for the people and the people that employ the people. Bipartisan! Maybe that’s why CK calls the Democrats incompetent. Or maybe, its just because they are. Read more

Jack Kennedy vs Obama on Tax Cuts. Amazing

I would think, by now, everyone is aware of the fact that President John Kennedy was very much in favor of cutting taxes during the recession of 1962. He understood what so many now have seen (see Reagan) that tax cuts stimulate an economy and add to government revenue, not subtract. It is truly amazing to hear his words again during these trying times. Read more

Good news: The “McCain economist” Democrats love to quote says brace yourself for double digit unemployment

His name is Mark Zandi, Moody’s chief economist, a well known Keynesian, and number cruncher (not advisor) to John McCain, says things look bad, reaaaaaaaal bad. Read more

The true cost of hiring just one employee

I have talked about this until I am blue in the face. But when I heard financial wizard and former actor, Wayne Rogers, put it all down in numbers, I just had to record and present. Those of you who have never run a business, never created a job, never met a payroll, never sweated out accounts payables while waiting for accounts receivables … this mean you guys in the White House … listen up.
