You have read the headline correctly. The Obama administration’s Commerce Department has imposed a tariff on Chinese solar panels imported from China. The administration complains the Chinese government has subsidized their own solar manufactures and unfairly put US manufactures at a disadvantage.
With little fanfare, the federal government will no longer subsidize ethanol in 2012. This subsidy has been a thorn in the sides of many, and now, it is no more. Read more

You know – expenses – the fixed and variable costs that companies incur as they spend money in an effort to put people to work and make a profit. Politicians are now in the habit of referring to “big oil subsidies” that are really business expenses. Liars…
Our President has declared that we must reduce our dependence on foreign oil. And, there are still many that believe that carbon dioxide contributes to “global warming”.
