Pelosi totally mis-represents what the contraception discussion is about

Let me remind everyone, the GOP never brought this subject up, it was the Obama/Democrat health care legislation that put the mandates out there and brought the issue to the forefront. Now Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is making crap up out of thin air.

Pelosi pulled this “I know something about Newt” stuff twice

Recently, Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) mentioned there was “there’s something I know,” and Newt Gingrich will never become president. It wasn’t it is something I know, the words were there is something I know. Gingrich called her out, told her to put up or shut up … now they are trying to spin her answer.

She wanted people to to think there was some sort of secret that she or someone else would drop at some point in the future. She probably didn’t expect Gingrich to call her bluff so quickly, so now it’s time to “clarify” what the former speaker said.

But, she’s done this before.

In early December, Pelosi pulled the exact same trick. And not surprising to me, it was the same week that Gingrich was surging in the polls. Gingrich had increase his average RCP numbers from about 10 percent to about 30 percent the 30 some-odd days prior to Pelosi’s first full-of-bull statement.

“One of these days we’ll have a conversation about Newt Gingrich,” Pelosi told Talking Points Memo. “When the time is right. … I know a lot about him. I served on the investigative committee that investigated him, four of us locked in a room in an undisclosed location for a year. A thousand pages of his stuff.”

That statement clearly kicked up a media storm about what she might know, and Gingrich called her out. She backed down.

With Gingrich on another roll during the last week going from 16 percent to almost 30 percent, her statement smells outright fishy. Why isn’t Pelosi being called out by the media for these full-of-bull statements designed to stir up a bit of chaos before and during the primaries?

The video from her most recent statement is below.

P.S. I realize many of my recent posts seem to be in support of Gingrich and dissin’ Romney. Don’t take that as blind support for Gingrich. I assure you, I’ve got issues with Gingrich as well, it’s just that my writing happens in spurts and is generally associated with something I read that sets me off. I’m not ignoring Santorum or Paul either.

Pelosi on capturing or killing bin Ladin – then and now comparison

Someone please tell me this woman will be retiring or maybe a Republican will be able to mount a serious challenge in 2012? Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) had a different point of view concerning capturing or killing Osama bin Ladin in 2006. Today, it’s “the most significant development in our fight against al-Qaida.”

Pelosi to Tufts students: Hey, now that I’m minority leader, elections should not really matter. Comments welcome.

While the nation was struggling with the budget crisis, and soldiers were wondering if they were actually going to get paid, Nancy Pelosi was off on the rubber chicken tour, speaking to an event in Medford, MA at Tufts University. But it wasn’t so much that she was ignoring the crisis that hand, it was the message. You need to understand, now that Queen Nancy has lost her crown, elections just shouldn’t matter anymore. Or if they do, Republicans need to start thinking like her. “Republicans need to take back their party.” Read more

Jobs, not food stamps: The 60 Minutes report that drove the show UPDATE: Hot Air kudos to CBS

It really is worth watching because it outlines beautifully (umm, pardon the adjective) the problem facing 14 million Americans. Relying on food stamps, unemployment checks, and neighbor kindness to stay afloat in an economy that clearly is not recovering, merely treading water. Read more

Nancy Pelosi: Hey, what say we spread the wealth around a bit – Video

In the interest of fairness of course. From last night’s O’Reilly Factor. Ya know, I’m just about at the point where not only does this not shock me, it’s kinda loosing its punch, even for a small “l” libertarian (H/T Larry Elder) like myself. Read more

The most ethical Congress EVAH … Rangel charged, will face trial

I’m happy that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) has been able to get through all of the red tape and finally work towards her pledge to fight ensure Congressional ethics. Funny though, she’s been unusually quiet about Rep. Charlie Rangel (D- N.Y.), maybe she should make a big splash by walking down Pennsylvania Avenue with a broom.
