When Connecticut Gov. D.P. Malloy (D) formed his task force on gun violence prevention early in the year, the governor set a deadline of March 15 to deliver preliminary reports with suggestions. Now Malloy wants to ignore the working groups and push his own legislation through immediately.
Buy a double barreled shotgun, you don’t need an AR-15. “It’s harder to aim, it’s harder to use and you don’t need 30 rounds to protect yourself.” That’s the advice Vice President Joe Biden gave via video today. He is lying to you and does not know what he is talking about.
I’m starting a new series of articles called Taking Guns Away. For all of you who keep telling people nobody is talking about taking your guns away, you’re tuning a blind eye to facts. Instead of walking into your home and demanding confiscation or mandatory buy-backs, the gun-grabbers will just make it too expensive to own firearms or make them completely worthless in a self-defense situation.
Well here we have another absurd argument from a politician. In Colorado, state Rep. Joe Salazar (D) thinks women who carry guns for self-defense will shoot first and ask questions later. Of course, there is zero evidence this would happen since women have been allowed to carry openly and concealed for years in almost every US state, and they have not been shooting people.
I’m sorry about the flurry of gun control posts on the blog during the last 45 days, but I just can not let stand the outright lies and distortions coming from politicians and talking-heads who tweak their message to appeal to the emotional side of the low-information voter.
Incrementalism. If the Newtown shooter had murdered 20 young children and six adults at Sandy Hook Elementary using a handgun, would the gun-control politicians and talking heads be demanding a handgun ban? People keep telling me handguns will not be banned, but they are not only on the “secret” list, it’s openly being discussed.

Should we pass a law? Last year, two teens drowned in Connecticut government school pools under the supervision of government employees. More than 3,000 unintentional, non-boating-related drownings occur each year, and about 700 of those are children under 14. Making life jackets mandatory will save lives.
A recent radio ad from Milwaukee Counties Sheriff David Clarke suggests people should not depend on law enforcement to be there right when you might need them. The NBC Today show freaked out a bit concerning the suggestion to arm yourself. Read more
Not as bad as New York, but the Connecticut General Assembly says it will use an “emergency certification” process to skip committee hearings on proposed legislation, leaving the public no voice when it comes to commentary on specific legislation.
