Obama and White House will no longer relate mass shootings and mental illness

By Steve McGough / June 3, 2013 /

Those with a mental illness who are physically violent are extremely rare, those who are violent with guns are even more rare. In the same vain, a firearm owner who commits a violent act with a gun is extremely rare too. We – gun owners – asked politicians and the media not to associate law-abiding…

Law Enforcement Survey: 90% do not support proposed gun-control legislation

By Steve McGough / April 8, 2013 /

We often hear from sheriffs (elected positions) and police chiefs (appointed by politicians) concerning their thoughts on “assault weapon” and “high-capacity” magazine bans, but we’re unable to hear from law enforcement officers not in leadership positions. A recent survey of more than 15,000 verified law enforcement professionals confirm what I’ve been hearing and what I’ve said for…

Obama gets to choose his own facts – Newtown shooter used “fully automatic” weapon

By Steve McGough / April 4, 2013 /

Of course it’s not just a weapon, more specifically it was a rifle, and only a semi-automatic rifle at that. But that does not stop President Obama from deliberately misleading everyone who listens to him by stating a “fully automatic weapon” was used in during the Newtown shooting. That’s an outright lie.

Detailed report of Newtown massacre will not change gun control agenda

By Steve McGough / March 22, 2013 /

Let’s accept reality here. Gun-control-supporting politicians don’t care about the details from Newtown, they just want to get rid of as many guns as possible since they hate guns and hate gun owners. They do this because that is how they are programmed … they must do something, even when the something they do does…

Feinstein and Cruz on the 2nd Amendment (Video)

By Steve McGough / March 15, 2013 /

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) really is fearless when it comes to taking on the old-guard senators on the left. Although Sen. Diane Feinstein (D-Calif.) never really answers the question posed by Cruz, she did mention Heller a couple of times.

Bill Whittle: The Virtual President on gun control (Video)

By Steve McGough / March 5, 2013 /

Worth the time. “In this segment of his Virtual State of the Union, the Virtual President talks about why politicians want to talk about gun control rather than crime control, and delivers the factual evidence and historical truths that make the case for the Second Amendment self-evident.”

New York: Penalties for large capacity magazines redux

By Steve McGough / February 26, 2013 /

Since my original post on the subject was long, corrected and updated multiple times – confusing even me – I needed to write a shorter post to clarify. I made a solid effort to update the orignal, but here’s the needed follow up.

Obama goes for the emotional gun control response – shows zero rational thought

By Steve McGough / February 13, 2013 /

I’m sorry about the flurry of gun control posts on the blog during the last 45 days, but I just can not let stand the outright lies and distortions coming from politicians and talking-heads who tweak their message to appeal to the emotional side of the low-information voter.

Chicago gun crime – Illinois congressman looking to handgun ban

By Steve McGough / February 12, 2013 /

Incrementalism. If the Newtown shooter had murdered 20 young children and six adults at Sandy Hook Elementary using a handgun, would the gun-control politicians and talking heads be demanding a handgun ban? People keep telling me handguns will not be banned, but they are not only on the “secret” list, it’s openly being discussed.
