It’s a New World Order, baby!

From Connecticut to London, it’s a new world order baby. If you’re rich (now defined as $250,000) you will pay more … a lot more. If you are middle class, oh you will be taxed too (for now in the way of fees, tariffs and sales taxes, but just for now), if you are considered needy (that’s kind of a moving target) personal responsibility does not apply to you. If you are in charge … these are heady times indeed. It’s a new world order baby. It’s all about the collective comrade. Listen to these comments from PM Brown. We’re gunna help the poor (that’s standard), green up the world (yea) and do it not as individual nations … but as a collective (comrade). This is from Breitbart.

From The Financial Times:

Gordon Brown, UK prime minister, host of the summit, said the meeting marked the emergence of a “new world order”, as he unveiled what leaders claimed was a £1,100bn [$1.6 trillion] package of measures to tackle the global downturn, including support for lower income countries and a £250bn plan to boost the international money supply.

Close inspection showed that some of the £1,100bn pledged included reannouncements and half-done deals.

If you read the article you find they really didn’t agree to much … but the intent is there and that is scary enough. Well for me anyway. The march continues.

There’s No More Money – Update: Cavuto Interviews Hannen

Update: Cavuto just finished interviewing MEP Hannen. Video below.

This is a must watch. It is a speech given at the European Parliament by MEO Daniel Hannen, who represents South East England. He is speaking to British PM Gordon Brown. Listen and see if the person he is describing sounds anything like our young President.

These are seas we are sailing into. This is precisely where we are headed. The White House Press Corps is finally starting to get it. I hope Americans will soon too. It is a good companion piece to the AIG I Quit post.

Update:  Cavuto tells Hannen that Obama will soon be trying to sell big government spending to the G 20 … which Hannen says is not only a terrible idea but makes no sense, even to the average person on the street. Listen all the way to the end where he first takes a shot at Republicans for bringing this on themselves … and then compliments Obama, but ina sort of back handed way.

Cavuto went on to ask him if he would consider running for PM. “I am not a PM”, he responded. We’ll see.

One good turns deserves… um… (Updated: Caption this!)

Have you ever gone out and looked for a gift, searching high and low for exactly the right gift for someone, only to receive socks in exchange?

Gordon Brown feels you pain. From the UK Daily Mail:

“He had put clearly great thought into giving the U.S. President lavish gifts to signify Britain’s ‘special relationship’ with the U.S.

During his historic trip to Washington, Gordon Brown gave Barack Obama an ornamental pen holder made from the timbers of the Victorian anti-slave ship HMS Gannet – once called HMS President.

The unique present delighted Mr Obama because oak from the Gannet’s sister ship, HMS Resolute, was carved to make a desk that already takes place in the Oval Office in the White House, after being presented by Britain to the US in 1880.”

Wait for it…

“For despite being leader of the world’s most bountiful nation, President Obama handed over nothing more thought-provoking than 25 classic American films on DVD.”

I’m not sure if this is the moral equivalent of underwear and socks from your Aunt Zeituni, but it’s gotta be close.
