I received a letter today. The bank holding our health savings account (HSA) funds reminded us we will pay upwards of 30 percent more for my over the counter medications as of Jan. 1, 2011. Obama lied, he said taxes would not go up for any family making less than $250,000 per year.

I’m struggling with the headline since I know health care has not been destroyed by low co-pays, but those gold-plated plans with $15 co-pays to go see a doctor and $25 for an emergency room visit have destroyed our perception of value when it comes to health care.

Proposed health care legislation would limit payroll tax-free contributions for Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) to $2,500 where there was no federal limit before. This could be a large tax increase for families with ongoing medical expenses and/or providing expensive dependent care.
