Site Update: New theme and chat room registration

As noted about three or four weeks ago, we were making some changes to the site. We’re working on the site template, using a new theme, and we’ve also changed around the live chat room a bit.

Give us some time on the site theme, we’re still working on the code and need to make some tweaks. If you have any suggestions or comments, feel free to contact us. Keep in mind style is very subjective. It’s kind of like talk radio, some people really like the host, some don’t.

We’re starting to prepare for the new version of WordPress that will allow us to make some additional changes to fix a few things like the navigation menu. (We know it is in two places in the header and we will fix that.) We’re also looking to make the sidebar sections a bit more defined since there are so many components of the sidebar. That said, only minor changes will be happening before the WordPress 3.0 version is released, then we will make some additional changes.

Stuff that is coming back soon (might take a bit of time)…

Chat Room

The chatroom is now exclusively available on the Radio Vice Online site. You must be registered here at our website to participate in the chat and post comments on the site. For more information, check out the FAQ page.

Before you try to get into the chat room, go over to Chatroll and ensure you are logged out. You will experience issues if you do not do this.

One note concerning the chat room. We spend a tremendous amount of time and energy producing 15 hours of professional radio per week and creating site content we want our friends and visitors to read. That is the primary purpose of this site. We enjoy the chat room, but it can not be, nor will it ever be, our primary focus.

This post has been updated on May 18 to remove some information covered in the FAQ.

Good job, Steve!  The page looks sharp.  Just out of curiosity, what happened to "Sound Off CT"?  Is the new "Jim Vicevich Show" a prelude to more national syndication aspirations?  I hope so!

From what I understand, the show name will be changing to the Jim Vicevich Show soon. That said, I updated the site.

Steve, the blog is much easier on the eyes. I do hope today this change will not hurt the chatroom though.

Sorry Steve… I don't like it.  I'm logged in – and updated my profile with a new "strong" password – yet it won't let me get into the chat room.  It's an unnecessary hassle in my opinion.

Tara19. You are logged in, so you should be able to get into the chat room and post comments. I sent you an e-mail. If you can not get into the room on the Live page (https://radioviceonline.com/live/) you are the only one that we know of with that issue.

Will you still have a featured video?  I liked those.  Or a list of the most recent articles?  I can't always get here to check every day.  Just wondering.

As noted in the post, video will be back as will the Newswire.

dealing with changes…begrudgingly.  Have had so many since 3/31 when we got kicked in stomach when Jim's contract wasn't renewed…got used to blogtalkradio…then back to here…now this change…It's a bit dizzying to say the least…but I am true blue and will hang in there…Hope that others will be as stalwart as I.  (((hugs))) to Steve & Jim

I am so confused, I finally got speakers here at work, and I can not find the chat room….

It's exactly where it has been for more than 16 months … the Listen Live page.

    Oops!

The link to hot air is not correct – goes to a site which sells.  Check it out.  I miss the other format, however.  Still – I love your site.  Will you add Breibart and newsbusters to the links?  Two of my favorites.

The website's content and articles were migrated to a new framework in October 2023. You may see [shortcodes in brackets] that do not make any sense. Please ignore that stuff. We may fix it at some point, but we do not have the time now.

You'll also note comments migrated over may have misplaced question marks and missing spaces. All comments were migrated, but trackbacks may not show.

The site is not broken.
