Showdown: Rove vs Williams

It started innocently enough. Karl Rove explains it’s not the Olympic fiasco that is hurting Obama … it’s not even this month’s unemployment rate, it’s Obama’s overall handling of the economy.

Juan steps in it when he accuses Rove and the Bush administration of doing nothing to stop the financial meltdown and that’s when Rove explodes. Let the games begin!

You would think, that after all the times Williams has been soundly b-slapped by Brit Hume, he would be smarter than to come to the proverbial gun fight with a knife.  Again.  He should know better than to go up against Rove, who was actually there and has total command of the facts.

Pointing the finger (reflexively in Obambi's case) is one thing.  Actually demonstrating, with historical fact, that Obama did what he did, along with Frank and Dodd, is quite another thing indeed.  And getting repeatedly bludgeoned by said facts seems to be Williams' lot in life.

Problem is …. they (democrats, liberals or just the uninformed) don't want to hear the facts … Juan Williams pretty much ignored Rove's response and then has to cut to commercial when Rove offers more evidence.   The facts don't support their cause.

It is clear, at least from this clip, that Juan is a firm believer in the age old adage…never let the facts stand in the way of a darn good opinion.

Pity it doesn't qualify as "darn good"!

Give Karl Rove credit where credit is due, this guy is brilliant with the facts. Juan Williams was trying to do a blame Bush response back.
