SEIU thugs think Eagle Scout candidate volunteering too much

SEIU members think they are entitled to work and make money. Of course, if there is no government money to fund projects and volunteers step in and take up the slack, union thugs are demanding all work stop. It’s not fair!

Cry me a river. From Jarrett Renshaw of the Morning Call.

In pursuit of an Eagle Scout badge, Kevin Anderson, 17, has toiled for more than 200 hours hours over several weeks to clear a walking path in an east Allentown park.

Little did the do-gooder know that his altruistic act would put him in the cross hairs of the city’s largest municipal union.

Nick Balzano, president of the local Service Employees International Union, told Allentown City Council Tuesday that the union is considering filing a grievance against the city for allowing Anderson to clear a 1,000-foot walking and biking path at Kimmets Lock Park.

Remembering President Obama’s support for volunteer efforts, Michelle Malkin asks…

Care to comment, President Obama? Or do SEIU thug-in-chief Andy Stern and his “persuasion of power” trump your service message to kids?

This reminds me of the 2006 story out of Philadelphia when the plumber’s union freaked out because a skyscraper was going to be built with urinals that did not require water to flush. With no water required, they did not need to install pipes – not good for the union members.

Limbaugh frequently reminds us a deal was brokered where the plumbers got to install the pipes anyway, even though they would not be used. Great deal for the union.

Update: Kevin is in pursuit of Eagle Scout rank, and I’ve changed my headline to reflect my error.

Update 2: Michelle Malkin’s weekly column on Nov. 20 covers this subject.

So SEIU THUG Nick Balzano must feel so proud of using thugery and fear tactics on 17 year-old members of the Boy Scouts of America.  Way to go SEIU!!!  I am sure all of you, your officers, staff, and goons who work through out Pennsylvania must be so proud of this event.  Now, um, I wonder, what WORSE  thing can you possibly do to youth about ruining what ever was left of your public image.  Way to stick it to the youth, I wonder how they will react in the future when it comes to "joining a union."…NOT.  As a life long scout, and citizen of westernPA, there is no more disgusting, pathetic, and disparaging act than what I just read in the Allentown Morning Call.  I want everyone to read the online version, spread it through out the U.S.  Send it to Hannity.  Make sure all Scouts read it, make sure you talk about it, and mention Nick Balzano and SEIU get all the recognition they can, for carrying out such an Un-American deed.

Everyone, please copy and past this post everywhere, keep talking about it, send it to SEIU offices, call their DC headquarters, (I did), and keep this story alive.  To attack volunteers in general, and Boy Scouts in particular, shows everyone how depraved and disgusting the SEIU has devolved.  Self-centered, self-preserving, self-interesting, and totaly lacking in civic ideals which built this country.  I have NEVER read an article that has made me this angry in a very long time.  God bless this young man, and what a lesson we all learned about the "union" today.
