Sawyer, Vieira display media bias on April Fool’s day (Update)

It’s possible we may be able to provide video soon, but NBC Today Show co-host Meredith Vieira and ABC News anchor Diane Sawyer made complete fools of themselves on April Fool’s day. Talk about the media left-wing.

Update: So did you fall for it? From the comments listed below, many people really did fall for it. My plan was to update this post last night but other things came up. Man, I even used April Fool’s in the title and the abstract of the post! What’s interesting and makes this a good April Fool’s gag is that many found the comments by Sawyer and Vieira believable.

This is about as crazy as it gets. Hat tip goes to Sister Toldjah who provides the pointer to the Notable Quotables section of the Media Research Center Web site. This is priceless stuff.

From the NBC Today Show this morning during an interview with Sen Jim DeMint (R-S.C.), with my emphasis in bold. Meredith Vieira seems to be … well … a loon.

Co-host Meredith Vieira: “Now Senator DeMint, as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was walking into the Capitol, I noticed one of the Tea Party protesters was brandishing a broom in her direction. Was he calling the Speaker a witch? And by-”
Sen. Jim DeMint: “Oh, c’mon Meredith. I saw that protester, too. He was chanting ‘Sweep the bums out!’”
Vieira: “-and, and no Senator, as I was going to say, by implication aren’t the protesters implying that they want to burn Nancy Pelosi at the stake? Like they did at the Salem Witch Trials? And if so, will you, sir, condemn this kind of atrocious language? And if this happens again, will you have these protesters arrested?”

And onto Diane Sawyer’s question to Jake Tapper during ABC’s World News

Sawyer: Now, as many of you know, the health care debate turned ugly when too many citizens still not over how African-Americans earned equal rights in this country set their sites on denying all of us access to health care. Now, in what some see as another ugly turn, those same so-called ‘Tea Party’ activists have turned their sites on President Obama’s noble dream of providing a free college education to all. So, Jake, should we fear more protesters swarming the streets of D.C., yelling racial slurs and gay epithets, trying, once again, to slow social progress?

These people are totally unbelievable. Is the liberal left so de-tuned they take these propagandists at face value?

Obama, Pelosi, Reid and the rest of the Democrats have dropped their masks, why not the press?

There is probably a high degree of frustration that all the polls are demonstrating that they (all the aforementioned) are failing to convince an increasingly skeptical public that the Democrat's power grab is in the people's best interest.  Now they are overplaying their hand.  Imagine that.

Oh, I forgot: "Vieira: “-and, and no Senator, as I was going to say, by implication aren’t the protesters implying that they want to burn Nancy Pelosi at the stake? Like they did at the Salem Witch Trials?"

This is VERY chilling Steve….This daily drum beat of RACISM is the kind of class scapegoating that went on in fascist Germany. I am certain it will continue every day with an escalated use of force by the state. Obamacare is turning out to be Fidel Castrocare . I fear political dissenters are in grave danger by this statement of Sawyer…."And if this happens again, will you have these protesters arrested?”….This is why I am so very disappointed in how conservative media has let that whole hutaree operation go down without any questioning of the validity of the charges, the officers involved,  and due process. It could be the first of MANY round ups on fake charges, convictions in the media, no fair trials, and long detentions in prison. We must have courage . Just showing up at a tea party is now an act of bravery that defies state run intimidation. Our country and our lives are truely at stake.

      Dohn,

I intend to act upon that courage and attend the Tea Party in Hartford.  I've written off  NBC and  ABC long ago.  Can't write off CNBC because of Morning Joe.  He's the only rational conservative voice we have on the liberal network.  Chris Matthews, well he's another story all together  who definitely sold his soul for the $$$$ and ratings.

how about if all tea party people just join the democrat party and call themselves "Party Poopers?"???????

Had said protester wanted to convey that they wanted Pelosi burned at the stake, I believe an actual STAKE with an effigy of Pelosi tied to it would have been more appropriate.  At which point, it would have been a good idea to build a *fire* around the stake, & throw *gasoline on the fire* to increase its "incendiary" potential.

There.  I added 3 more gratuitous fire references to their one.  My work here is done.

What kind of drugs are these people on?

Arrested for holding a broom?  Are you kidding me Meredith?  The use of the term "witch" is atrocious language?  Has she watched late night tv?

And Diane really…free college?  Do you think we are stupid?  In order for something to be free…someone else has to foot the bill.  And according to her, because I disagree with Obama on just about everything he's doing and I went to a tea party…that makes me a racist and an "activist"?

"I thought this was America?"  "Well, it isn't anymore!"  "I know!!!!!"

Ahh yes, it was such an intricate plan. Link to Sister Toldjah who linked to the Media Research Center who always does a great job with monitoring media bias. A perfect plan. I even gave the impression video would be posted eventually!

      gaaaaaah…we've been had!

It is sad that we believed this, but not surprising considering the garbage that is  continually spouted by these nut jobs!

      Well done, Steve…well done!
