Republican debate highlights: Gingrich slams Huntsman and Obama, Bachman slams Romney care and Obama care

I know the conventional wisdom is that either Rick Perry or Mitt Romney won the debate last night. But I actually watched it and I thought that Mitt Romney and Rick Perry at best were also-rans. They may be the front runners, but not at last night’s debate my opinion. No my little barbarians it was none other than Newt Gingrich and Michele Bachmann who stole the show.

This 1st video is one of Newt Gingrich. Wolf Blitzer asks him to respond to a Gov Huntsman comment that Republicans are scaring old people and they need to stop talking about changes to Social Security. Newt comes back and in one or great moment takes down both Huntsman and Obama and sends a warning to the young people in America about Social Security.

In this 2nd video Michelle Bachmann gets her chance to take on both Perry and Mitt Romney on healthcare reform. It’s a great moment in in the process she not only points to the flaws in both Perry and Romney but the urgency in repealing Obama care.

And here’s a little bonus video from last night. Newt Gingrich taking on Barack Obama over loopholes in the tax system.

Look I fully understand that Rick Perry and Mitt Romney hold commanding leads. But if we just went on last night’s debate the real contest should be between Bachmann and Gingrich. Have at it my little barbarians.

No matter who wins, he or she needs to hire Newt as a debate coach!

I’ve been saying since the debates began that Newt is the comeback kid. Be nice to see him debate zero.

The real stars of this debate were the members of the audience, The Tea Party.
The party of ‘death panels” was screaming “let him die” when Ron Paul was asked about an uninsured 30 year old needing long term care. Just wow.

Sometimes, one hears what one wants to hear, as in the case of Emmanuel Cleaver.

I still do not understand how any Republican can support Romney. How is he second?
Can you spell RINO? The polls must be fixed or they are asking democrats. If he gets the nomination we are doomed, might as well vote for Obama.

Funny you should say that. We were in MA and sitting next to a loud man saying President Obama is the ONLY president we have had with any brains. Then he proceeded to tell his dumbfounded “audience” that he registers as a Republican and he will vote for Romney in the Primary. He knows President Obama can beat him. OK Only Red Sox fans will get this, but I was sure he was ill informed when he said that the BEST liked Red Sox is Wakefield. Now I personally love Wakefield and all the rest of the team. However, Ortiz is always the Sox most people vote for in the All Stars. I wonder if this guy is a racist!!!
