Rasmussen Poll: Blumenthal loses 10 points to McMahon in two weeks
New poll from Rasmussen this morning. The poll was taken yesterday, but it’s not clear what time the poll started or completed. The poll included 500 likely voters in Connecticut, and had a margin of error of 4.5 percent. That means – as of this morning – it’s a dead heat between Blumenthal and McMahon.

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in Connecticut finds Blumenthal with just a three-point advantage over Linda McMahon, 48% to 45%. Two weeks ago, he led the former CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment by 13 percentage points. The New York Times story broke late Monday; the survey was taken Tuesday evening.
When matched against former GOP Congressman Rob Simmons, Blumenthal leads by 11 – 50% to 39%. Two weeks ago, the longtime state attorney general held a 23-point lead over Simmons.
Blumenthal now leads Peter Schiff, a high-profile Wall Street investment banker, 53% to 37%. In the previous survey, he posted a 54% to 29% lead over Schiff.
Still, just 26% of voters say Blumenthal should withdraw from the Senate race. Only nine percent (9%) of Democrats hold that view.
However, 53% of voters say “the issue of Blumenthal and his military service” will be at least somewhat important in terms of how they vote. That figure includes 27% who say the issue is Very Important. Among voters not affiliated with either major political party, 25% consider this issue Very Important.

he conduct to say "most veterans in the state were backing Blumenthal.
I think the moral guideposts that directed Blumie to lie about his service are the same that direct the Courant to run specious polls.
I cannot believe any veteran would still support Blumenthal after making those untruthful statements about his Vietnam service. (USN Retiree and Vietnam Veteran (1971))

Bottom, bottom line: he did more than others in his era and this era have done-he enlisted, served and fulfilled what he said was his "obligation".
Ok, those of you who are veterans of that war are entitled to feel enraged-you earned the right to feel any way you want, actually.
Everyone else who never served, never felt personally obligated, needs to stifle already.
I am not a veteran, but am outraged at the arrogance of Blumenthal. How dare he not even apologize properly-"misstatement" is a sugar coated was to say you lied. We know he lied, don't insult our intelligence. Shame on him. Thank you to all veterans that have and are currently serving our country!
I will have to have a talk with Rinker and set him straight. This has gone National and Blumenthal is all but done. A simple apology and and admission he was caught in the moment might have brought forgiveness , but his ego and attorney training will not let him be wrong….too bad.
Simmons gained 12 points on Blumie and he hasn't spent a dime on ads yet.
