South Attleboro resident Eileen Wilbur’s bill from the city is for one penny. The city sent Wilbur a letter dated Nov. 10 stating that if the 1 cent balance is not paid by Dec. 10, the city will assess a lien of up to $48 on Wilbur’s next property tax bill.

According to Yahoo! news: "Mayor Kevin Dumas says the whole situation was blown out of proportion." By whom? The senior citizen, or Attleboro City Hall? Gotta love the bureaucrats.
Howie Carr interviewed Mrs. Wilbur yesterday afternoon. She was pretty funny.
The problem has been taken care of by hundreds of people driving by city hall and throwing pennies at the front door.
we did not save the steel industry I think it employed many more people then the auto industry. The politicians think our money is theirs to do with what they please. I agree with that listener that people will take all there money and hide it so that the government doesn't know how much they have.
The most ridiculous part about Ms. Wilbur's ordeal? The city had to pay 42 times the amount of her tax bill in postage to just mail her the notice…..oyayoooyyyy!
