Pat Buchanan: Obama the beneficiary of affirmative action?

Oh, brother. When will it end? Okay I don’t think it’s an unreasonable request, it’s just that Chris Matthews loves setting this trap because it keeps him and other lefties from having to talk about what a miserable job President Obama is doing. Buchanan wants to know why Obama won’t release his grades? And the whole thing just deteriorates from there.
The new normal for unemployment is now 8%. It used to be 5%. The new normal for gas prices, according to Tim Geithner, is now five dollars a gallon.  It used to be two dollars.  It used to be that W broke the bank when his largest deficit was $600 billion. Today that’s chump change. CEOs at pharmaceutical companies are now punished for not toeing the Obama line. The EPA now runs our oil drilling industry. The economy is in a shambles, and the best Buchanan can do is question whether Obama is the beneficiary of affirmative action.
First the back story. Matthews begins with what else, birtherism.  From there the conversation switches to Obama’s hidden educational background. From there the whole thing goes to hell. Well here it is my little mobsters. Even if you didn’t ask for it, here it is.

Okay. I’m not saying it’s not a legitimate subject. If George Bush and John Kerry can compare grades, then why can’t Obama come up with his grades? It’s not unreasonable.
But if we spend a lot of time on this kind of stuff, it’ll be 2012 and we will still be staring at the hole instead of grappling with the doughnut. Am I wrong? Chime in. I do read the comments.

My Goodness!!? I was wincing watching this….. Jim, you’re right…… with the economy in flames, trillion of dollars?being added to the?deficit?on the backs of?future generations,?three wars at once, QE 1,2,3……. gas prices going up, up & up……. inflation ramping up big time, I don’t give a rat’s rearend about the stupid birth certificate or his transcripts……. I just want him DEFEATED!!!!!!!!!! ?????

  2. JollyRoger on April 26, 2011 at 11:30 pm

The birth cert could be Obama’s Achilles heel.? He should have been vetted properly before lying his way into office and foisting a radical socialist agenda- but the media were too busy pleasuring themselves while reading the “news” to whoever watches them!

  3. RoBrDona on April 27, 2011 at 6:18 am

You are right, there is little value to going over and over the fact that an elitist socialist refuses to allow access to documents that most people would consider basic due diligence. It is however, a part of a pattern of indifference that spreads to those important economic. social and diplomatic issues. What we have is an empty suit careening down a hill.

I whole heartedly agree with essneff!? The ONLY thing I can hope for regarding the birth certificate is that when the new president is elected, Obummer is forced to show it and prove whether he’s an American.? If he’s not wouldn’t that deem every bill he has signed as illegal (ie Obamacare!!!)?? A technicality I know, but one can dream……

Omgosh…I want to wipe that??silly smug grin right off of CM’s face. ARGH!
Pat asks him straight up @ 36 sec and he?totallly ignores the question. I think that is what frustrates me so about these guys (politicians and media)…the avoidance and “clever” redirection…I hate that!?
I do have mixed thoughts about this issue because the shadiness of it all speaks volumes to me about O’s character and trustworthiness. And if Pat is right and it’s all about Affirmative Action…why be ashamed…isn’t that what O’s all about? Although w/ his track record of late he might be a little hesitant to be the poster child for the success of AA.?
Even though it does seem a little late and maybe not as important as other things going on, I think doublechin makes a really valid point…this could negate everything he’s done during his term.

    The guy is a FRAUD.

Arguing the question four years late only undermines faith in constitutional propriety and electoral process.? It is another proof that those who would lead are not to be trusted.
Distrust in a society’s institutions and leadership has never lead to harmony, peace or prosperity.? Such distrust has however lead to many negative events, including civil conflict.?? We live in dangerous times.

The present release of the long missing long form birth certificate confirms what I have said all along: he withheld the BC just to make a fake controversy and set up a group of “birthers” to make fun of and ridicule.?? He could have done this TWO YEARS AGO, but chose not to, despite the ongoing controversy.? What other reason was there for the wait??? I think the CIA could have contrived a fake BC long before this ( 😉 ), so that conspiracy is off the table.
    ?
It is clearly all a distraction from the real problem: his inexperience, his socialist leanings, and his constant campaigning rather than governing.
    ?
The next biggie is the college grades, graduate grades, law school performance.? What about any legal publications?? I want to see them.? I can’t (as above) think of any good reason to hide them, other than he was a worse student than Gore, Kerry or Bush, or he used the crutch of affirmative action instead of his alleged intellect (Army Air Corpse?), or he took nothing but basketweaving courses and barely passed them.?? I don’t think it is a stretch to assume that he never had an economics course!

  9. Dimsdale on April 27, 2011 at 10:43 am

Come to think of it, wasn’t the whole 2008 election based on a kind of affirmative action?? I mean, with the “white guilt” and “first black president” thing, how is it different?? He got votes for his race, certainly not his qualifications.

  10. brianh on April 27, 2011 at 12:16 pm

I’ve always expected that President Obama is a natural born?citizen, but couldn’t know for sure.
I have?no doubt that he is a product of affirmative action.
To Jim’s point…we must move on, but not directly to the ’12 election. We’re on the verge of?there being?no more money to borrow (ie failed bond auctions). Only a minority of our bond issues have actually been bought, this year. We printed money to cover the rest. That ends in June. Who buys a $1T in bonds over the remainder of ’11?

CM keeps the news lively don’t he? Glad somebody watches him. You would have to pay me double what I used to make to watch him.

  12. Eric on April 27, 2011 at 8:55 pm

From what we’re now hearing affirmative action would’ve been the only way this dummy could’ve gotten into Columbia, let alone Harvard. I’m not surprised that his transcripts are being hidden!

  13. Linda Mae on April 28, 2011 at 12:03 am

Review your Rules for Radicals.? You should always control the issue.? Also, state what you want to exist, not necessarily what does exist.? Start with a lie and eventually it will become “reality” – especially to those who never hear the retraction.?? We are being played – big time.? At least I’ve heard fewer hosts complain about the lack of “good” candidates for the Rep. party – subtext is might as well vote for Obama.? Even the “weakest” Rep. candidate will be 110% stronger than Obama in helping our country protect itself, reign in spending, help the economy, rebuild our honor in the world, should I go on?

      Well said!!

  14. steve418r on April 28, 2011 at 5:07 am

Obama had to get the “birther” thing behind him so he could get to the Oprah show. I think Trump had the perfect reaction to the release of the document. Even though this issue is settled, there wont be any progress on the real core problems. It is too close to the election, campaigning will take front and center.

It’s another trap the Republicans fell into.”Where have all the flowers gone, long time passing; where have all the flowers gone long long ago,?”When will they ever learn, when will they ev-er learn.”

  16. WagTheDog on April 28, 2011 at 10:25 am

This is just too surreal. ?I’m sorry – I’m about to disassociate myself with the outside world. ?Well, not really. ?B ut things like this gives me the dizzies.
