Have you ever gone out and looked for a gift, searching high and low for exactly the right gift for someone, only to receive socks in exchange?
Gordon Brown feels you pain. From the UK Daily Mail:

During his historic trip to Washington, Gordon Brown gave Barack Obama an ornamental pen holder made from the timbers of the Victorian anti-slave ship HMS Gannet – once called HMS President.
The unique present delighted Mr Obama because oak from the Gannet’s sister ship, HMS Resolute, was carved to make a desk that already takes place in the Oval Office in the White House, after being presented by Britain to the US in 1880.”
Wait for it…
“For despite being leader of the world’s most bountiful nation, President Obama handed over nothing more thought-provoking than 25 classic American films on DVD.”
I’m not sure if this is the moral equivalent of underwear and socks from your Aunt Zeituni,but it’s gotta be close.

It is much more than that. Obama gave him 30 minutes, half of which was taken up with the hand shakes. He was invited here and then snubbed. Maybe we are going to go back to hating the British.
Dear God, he is making Clinton look good! There's class, low class, and no class. I think Obama is trying to rise up to low class.
Does anybody in the White House have even a clue about what to do, even with small niceties like this? Anybody?
The name Obambi is sticking more and more every day. I wonder if he needed a teleprompter during their meeting?
The quiet thought in England is that Mrs. Obama doesn't like the British because of their early involvement in the slave trade.
Biden: Oh, I thought Michelle would scrap off the discount stickers.
Pelosi: But Gordo, look, she bought them at Target, it's like our Harrods in the states.

Pelosi: We were going to get you a set of Barrack Obama Inaugural Coins and Decorative Plates.
Biden: But they sold out very quickly on QVC
Maybe next time, he can hand out bottles of his six pack sweat from his next Hawaiian vacation. Assuming the reporters and reporterettes don't snap it all up first….
