    Let’s see now.

This is what I’ve read so far this morning.
We’re going to blame the assault weapon,
    the hand guns,
    the parents were divorced.
The mother put too much emphasis and demands
    on the child.
The child suffered from a personality disorder,
    Asperger’s Syndrome,
    a mild form of autism.
    He withdrew from society.
    He was a social outcast.
    He wasn’t bullied, BUT
    he was probably teased.

Does anyone REALLY want to know
what was in this child’s brain?
What would you do if you knew?
Do you think they will REALLY find out,
and if they do find out,
    will they tell us?

And, if they tell us what,
    will they tell us why?

    ?

I can’t even think about the horror of it all . . .
    ?
My deepest sympathies to the parents, the families, the friends, the responders, everyone having to deal with the aftermath . . . It’s too much for me to comprehend . . . how horrible, sick, disturbed, vile, twisted . . .
    ?
How is it possible to make sense out of the senseless?

    • JBS on December 16, 2012 at 1:47 pm

      O.K., I’ll say it.
      ?
We need national mandatory NUT CONTROL.
Crazy control, mental illness management, threat to self and society review board, something other than the ho-hum attitude that is fashionable now.
      ?
This man was mentally ill. Someone close to him knew it, or knows it, and kept quite. He had an argument (wild altercation) with four staff members (teachers and administrators) at the Sandy Hook school the day before the shootings and no one thought to mention it to any type of authority???
It would have been all too easy for a police officer to be at the school. Contact the mother, let her know her son was acting erratically.
      ?
It truly is time to bring mental illness out of the closet . . . it is past time to remove the stigma and shame put on the mentally ill . . . they are sick . . . one concerned person could have made a lot of difference . . .?
      ?
How do we get the dialogue started . . . ?

    • Lynn on December 16, 2012 at 3:36 pm

JBS, You are right, as Steve pointed out after the football player murder/suicide. Actually there is a natural place to start the dialogue with Obamacare. ?However, I would prefer that we use the states to administer any program we develope.

    • JBS on December 16, 2012 at 6:05 pm

However it works out, the current state of community mental health is abysmal. The jails and prisons are being used to warehouse people who could otherwise be helped.
Could better mental health services have helped in this horrible situation? Certainly. Would this man have been helped? Don’t know that one. It remains that almost any help would have been better than what happened.
I hope that the states would run the community mental health services. Look what the feds have done on a federal level. ZIP. The federal answer would be to establish gulags.?
There has to be something better. (On the player who committed the murder suicide: A good place to start would be within the medical community. Throwing heavy narcotics at someone with brain trauma and an alcohol problem is, well, just plain crazy and inviting disaster.)
      ?

Amen SOS. And it shakes our very foundation.
The foundation of faith and the mutual respect that it expects of each us.
Eloquent stones laid out in the Constitution as rights, as freedoms.?
That which this country was built on.
The responsibility and cost of maintaining them are high, in this case unbearably so.
Yet our country has always sent and sacrificed its children to protect those freedoms.
In quiet reflection we find that?our foundation stones are?sound.
Let us have the wisdom and courage to act to keep them so.???
It is the least we can do.??

This article explains the terror of a son with mental illness. We need to address this problem at it’s roots, instead of banning guns or violent videos.

God Bless all of the victims, thier families, friends and relatives.?

Fast and furious took more lives, but Obama was misty eyed and is now going after guns! ?It amazes me the questions that go unasked with effete little dictator.

May God keep in the Palms of His hands the souls of the martyrs of Shandy Hook School. Please God give confort, support, and peace to the dear ones who have been left behind to grieve. Amen.

You read a poem, “The Field Trip”, at the end of your show today. Can you please post it to your site?

    • davesnow on December 17, 2012 at 5:38 pm

I also would like the poem posted.? It literally brought me to tears when Jim read it

    • jdhmemphis on December 17, 2012 at 5:52 pm

    oddd……coincidence?
According to Fabian4Liberty, Peter Lanza was scheduled to testify in the ongoing global LIBOR scandal. In what could only be described an amazing coincidence, the father of Colorado Batman shooter James Holmes, Robert Holmes, was also a LIBOR witness in his position with FICO.
It sounds like these parents were “a little too open” about the destruction the world faces right around the corner.
Unfortunately for the “could-care-less-for-what-the-data-says” Admin, media, et al, this is merely another way to foist gun control upon the populace.? We’re being made weaker by design – how’s about them 30,000 drones they said will be in the air in the coming decade?
It seems the constitution IS just some dusty old document – TPTB sure treat it as such.
If I knew that was the Obama cavalcade driving by clogging up the highway last night, I’d have had my middle finger out the window as I went eastbound.

    • JBS on December 19, 2012 at 3:57 pm

The news reports ARE there — it’s a safe bet that the MSM will not report on this; if they do report on it, it will soon be forgotten. The chances of both fathers being involved with the LIBOR ongoing scandal is astronomical, especially given their respective work positions.
There is definitely something going on.I hope others pick up on this and . . . I wonder if both of the fathers are big contributors to the DNC/Obamacrats?
      Thanks for the tip.
