Obligatory “Green Police” Super Bowl Audi ad video

I’m not quite certain to make of the Audi “Green Police” advertisement debuting during the Super Bowl on Sunday. I watched it, laughing and cringing at the same time.

Corporations are jumping on the green bandwagon, but it’s not necessary. If changing light bulbs met the same business requirements a corporation has … allowing employees to comfortably read and see where they are going in the building – and cut the operations budget at the same time – guess what? Their going to change the damn light bulbs.

If Audi makes a quality, reasonably priced vehicle that offers low emissions, great gas mileage and meets the requirements of the driver, guess what? The buyers will come.

The ad is funny as there is an element of truth to the “green police” theme, since the government is acting like a nanny state telling us on a daily basis what is good for us and the planet … and what is not.

Audi has 10 models in more than 20 styles. Two feature the TDI® clean diesel engine – the 2010 Audi A3 TDI and Q7 TDI – start at $29,950 and $46,900 respectively.
