Øbama’s “truth squads” should be more truthfully named “Pravda squads”

Once again, Øbama’s “truth squads” are being publicized to, as David Axelrod says, “When the truth and facts are under assault, this will be a helpful tool to set things straight.”  The use of the word “truth” implies that only the “truth team” has the “truth” and the GOP does not, and need to be “set straight”. Who are you going to believe, David Axelrod, or your lying eyes?

Clearly, using the term “Truth Team” insinuates that all criticisms of Øbama (when not called “racist”) are lies and need to be corrected. Adding to this is the fact that, curiously, they don’t list any assaults on the facts by Democrats, with the clear implication that there are none. Hmmmm. Could this be yet another example of psychological projection, where the president has nothing positive to run on, and uses mythical attacks by Republicans to justify his taking of SuperPak money in direct opposition to all the things he said about it 2008, when he was feasting on unverified donations from who knows where?  Apparently, it is only “a threat to our democracy” when Republicans do it.

The “Truth Team” website has the following teams: “Attack Watch”, “Keeping GOP Honest”, and, (saving the best for last, “Keeping His Word”.  You should read them and note that what they don’t say is far more important and revealing than what they do say. This sin of omission is as bad as the sin of commission.

The facts they list are almost laughable in the level of their deceit. For example, in the heading titled “Reducing our dependence on foreign oil”, they state “New research published this week by Bloomberg reports that “the U.S. is the closest it has been in almost 20 years to achieving energy self-sufficiency.”

Other topline findings: “domestic oil output is the highest in eight years. … Domestic crude oil production rose 3.6 percent last year to an average 5.7 million barrels a day, the highest since 2003, according to the Energy Department.”

Alongside this increase in output, figures released earlier this year showed that since President Obama took office, America’s foreign oil imports have fallen by an average of 1.1 million barrels a day and are now at their lowest level in 16 years— a significant step towards energy independence.”

Let’s look more closely at what they don’t say: the decrease in the importation can be directly correlated with the decline in the economy, coincidentally starting when the Democrats took control of Congress in 2007. Go look at the “truth squad’s” own chart. Of course we are using less oil: the price has gone through the roof under Øbama and the Democrat’s watch, and people can’t afford to buy fuel to go to work, or are out of a job and don’t need to/can’t afford to buy gas in the first place!

The increase in the domestic output looks good, and it results directly from the fact that the high price of fuel makes it feasible to run the hurdles from the EPA in this country and go after difficult sources. But to extrapolate their logic, we should be completely free of dependence on foreign oil when our economy completely collapses!   Should “self sufficiency” come from our economic collapse due to the actions of an inept federal government, or worse, from loans financed by our economic competitors, to be repaid with interest by our children?   Notice that out of the other side of their mouths, they hypocritically lament that the oil companies are making huge profits, all while neglecting to note that the government makes more per gallon than the oil companies after costs. See for yourself; for a less precise, but similar answer, see FactCheck.org.

Sure, 2 cents per gallon over billions of gallons is good money, but if local, state and federal government is confiscating 24 to 48 cents per gallon, who is really profiting/gouging at the expense of the consumer here?  But none of these irritating facts fit in with the “truth squad’s” goal of getting the feckless Øbama reelected.

The other parts of the “Truth Team’s” site, “Keeping GOP Honest” and “Attack Watch” are even more laughable, with retorts that omit any current or future Øbama tax increases, drives more wedges between economic classes, and takes great liberties with the statements of the perceived Republican front runner, Romney.

With Øbama and Axelrod’s “Truth Team”, we are now seeing is the officially sanctioned version of “Media Matters”, and no doubt, they are Media Matters “allies” as the recently leaked email from MM stated. I guess the “truth”, to the “Truth Team”, rather than being an apolitical absolute, is relative and only matters when it can be used manipulated to attack Republicans.

Øbama’s “Truth squads” are death squads for the truth and the real story, mangling facts, regurgitating talking points and putting out propaganda just like the old Soviet Pravda newspaper used to do. Do your homework: read between the lines and dig up the whole story. For both parties. Let Øbama’s record be your guide.

Propaganda is essential to holding together totalitarian regimes.
“The past three years have proven that the strength of a new idea is stronger than the resources of an outdated worldview, even when it defends itself with the instruments of state. A new kind of authority has been established in every area of public life…”

      You might.
? You would at least get different “news”.

Whatever it takes, crystal.? The internet is your friend.? You can assume with certainty that any story from a website affliliated with a candidate will be slanted towards the candidate.? My objection is with the word “truth”, which in this context, is completely bastardized.

On February 14, a Florida Appeals court ruled there is absolutely nothing illegal about lying, concealing or distorting information by a major press organization. The court reversed the $425,000 jury verdict in favor of journalist Jane Akre who charged she was pressured by Fox Television management and lawyers to air what she knew and documented to be false information. The ruling basically declares it is technically not against any law, rule, or regulation to deliberately lie or distort the news on a television broadcast.

You make my case for me.? You do remember what CBS did to Bush, right?? Or how criticism of John Kerry’s military record was effectively blackballed by the lefty media until October, when they couldn’t contain it anymore??
      ?
If you can’t believe news organizations, why would you think that a campaign site purporting to reveal the “truth” is any more trustworthy.? Or trustworthy at all??
      ?
Which is the point of this post.

Here’s some truth- the policies and confiscatory tax schemes of both the state and federal government are virtually ensuring that as few as possible unemployed people ever see another paycheck again.? Between Dan’l Malaise with his tax and mandate orgy and Obummer and his class-envy drivel to cultivate support for confiscating the assets of the very people who might otherwise provide me a job, the only way unemployment goes down is when we finally get discouraged and stop looking after our benefits run out.? Why do we have to put up with the larcenous deceit from any of these criminals?? Of course my gasoline consumption has gone down now that I don’t have a damned job to go to.

The main stream media does not report the truth. The “whole story” is that it’s Obama’s progressive socialist agenda or nothing, and most of America is not smart enough or interested enough to find out the real story on their own. Especially not when the O is signing them all up for victim class fed handouts. ?

Any association of truth with Obama is an oxymoron.?

    Spin, spin, spin, spin . . .
The Dem’s very life depends on presenting the truth as the way they would like it . . . NOT the way it really is.
As noted above, the Dems are acting like kids in a sand box, and as such only want to tell their side of events in the best possible light. One that implicates them the least.
Truth and facts have little to do with Democrat reality.
