Obama’s press secretary, Robert Gibbs, resigns

Today, White House Press Secretary, Robert Gibbs, tendered his resignation.  Of course, as are all resignations from presidential appointments, he resigned so he could spend more time with his family.

Two curious things…  First, Mr. Gibbs style was pretty combative.  A style that wouldn’t work well if President Obama desires to appease the “middle of the road” Americans who turned out in droves last November to “unelect” Democrats.  That is, if the president hopes to be reelected in 2012.

And second, while speaking to the SoundOffMom on Sunday, she told me that Gibbs had been fired.  So, as a “good” journalist , I scoured the internet for any such news, but couldn’t find any.

And no, the SoundOffMom wasn’t one of the two winners of the MegaLottery drawing last night!

So, did he resign of his own volition, or was he asked to resign?

Given the political climate, what do you think?

    3 possibilities:

    1.  He, like McChrystal was shown the wisdom of stepping down as opposed to being fired.

    2.  He is jumping off the bus before he gets thrown under it.

    3.  Like Emmanuel, he will be free to continue the mad rush to socialism with alot less scrutiny.

I agree with PatRiot on points 1 and 2. On 3. I understood that Emmanuel had constant arguments because the ultra, extreme Liberal left was pushing too hard and Emmanuel, who lives and breathes for Political engineering knew it was detrimental to President Obama, However, since we are discussing Gibbs, the man is no leader and I'm sure President Obama never listens to him (or of course anyone else). My prediction he will fade into some quiet cubbyhole where he will make millions and all the bennies.

Gibbs is a major league richardkopf who truly represents his boss's world view. A typical Gibbs response to a question might involve any or all of the following: pretending to ignore the question while he fakes writing notes; asking that the question be repeated; acting as if he didn't understand the question; feigning ignorance of the issue; attacking or ridiculing the questioner or his organization; sullenly declaring it was time to "move on to something more productive" when pressed for an answer or details; or promising to "get back" to a persistent reporter with an answer, which translates to calling the reporter's boss to complain.

Personally, I've always felt a bit sorry for Gibbs. He often has to explain the absurd and make it sound reasonable, while making his boss look good. Not an easy job.

Bwaaaahaaaahaaaahaaaaahaaaa!  I don't have any answer for you, SOS, but I can say that I am so glad this snarky, petulant, unprofessional man is now gone.  Hopefully the President will replace him with someone who has a better public-side manner, (also known as Clinton-esque Triangulation).

I think they realized they had the perfect replacement, after he held an impromptu press conference.

For re-election they need to get rid of the arrogant, combative elitist Baghdad Bob Gibbs, and replace him with a new Press Secretary who connects better with the American people, William Jefferson Clinton.

I've always been in absolute awe of the contrast between Dana Perino and Gibbs. I am still convinced that Obama is no where near as intelligent as the press says he is, Gibbs is a perfect illustration of that.

    My prediction?

You will soon see Baghdad Bob in some capacity in the Obama 2012 re-election team.

The MSM has already been crowing about this.

LOL: "richardkopf"!!   It is like calling him a "Blumenthal"!

Fibber Gibbs is gone.  Soon to be replaced by an even worse Chicago thug: Daley.
