Obama to Connecticut … ummm no!

Last month the Connecticut shoreline was battered by rain and wind that caused serious flooding and damage to homes and business reportedly totaling more than $10 million. Governor Rell had asked for federal assistance to help individual homeowners and businesses hit hard by the storms. Yesterday she learned her request has been denied … by Mr Hope and Change himself … Obama.

President Barack Obama has denied aid to individuals affected by March’s massive storms and Gov. M. Jodi Rell said she plans to file a formal appeal.

The decision comes just days after Obama approved the state’s request for a “major disaster declaration,” which provides financial help to state and municipal governments in Fairfield, Middlesex and New London counties.

Storms plagues the state, especially these counties from March 12 to 14 and from March 29 to 31.

Rell was looking for help for homeowners, renters and employers.

I am presuming there is a technicality that precludes Connecticut from getting the cash. It certainly can’t be politics, can it? I mean, isn’t the Constitution state in with in crowd? Please, with John Larson (Pelosi’s BFF) and Chris Dodd, the biggest spender i Congress (Health Care and Banking), they can’t find some lose change? Well, as the President says …

Governor Rell says she will continue to persue assistance by leaning on the Connecticut delegation. I’ll try and update this later.

Pretty amazing attitude for The One to take, isn't it? It isn't like this state didn't go ga-ga for him in 2008. I wonder if our local moonbats are going to remember this in 2012 … or 2010, for that matter. Nah, makes too much sense.

These are the things that make me wonder if Governor Rell pushes a shopping cart down the street at night looking for 5c bottles in garbage cans. She is the bag lady of Washington DC, begging for money with each passing thunderstorm. If a tree falls in the woods and nobody is there to hear it, a sound is made . It's Jody Rell calling DC to collect cash for state worker pension funds.

    Obama doesn't like Connecticut people.

    here's my theory….

There is not a single representative in this state in trouble this November. Blumenthal is a shoe in.

Why would Obama waste a dime of HIS political capital on Ct???

It is not the PEOPLE of the state that concern him….

    AT ALL!!!!!!!

GdavidH has it exactly right. The majority of people who vote in this state are already bought, so why bother?

Just wait to see the financial disaster we're facing for each of the next three years with reduced federal funding, and the continued increase in State spending. It's really scary.

Exactly! It is the situation my union has in MA: they vote straight Democrat every time, then wonder why their contracts don't get funded. Not the brightest bulbs…..

So how's that "hopey changey" thing workin' out for you?

They complained that Bush was slow to respond to Katrina (a lie), but at least he responded!

Maybe one should read the second paragraph of the quote above, again. Then …….. comment.

Obama only cares about giving to those he believes will somehow give back to him. He never does a thing that is not geared to benefit him. CT representatives are nice and cozy with Obama and he does not have to give them one doggie bone to get them to stay – they are loyal little puppies and he knows it; so why would he have to do a thing for their state? He doesn't.

The people of CT mean nothing to him we are just the pee pee pad for his CT lap dogs. You do not have to please us, you only have to keep the doggies happy and so long as Obama is smiling at them they are happy, no need for treats. So we get nothing.

But then again do we really want the government's money – is it really the government's money to give to us? We have to be bigger and better than they are and we know that money is somebody else's and that somebody worked hard for it. We are better off telling Obama we can fix things ourselves, clean up our own messes and thank you, but no thank you. That will be the voice of the people not the reps.

And….. Obama has no idea that We the People of CT will be kicking those doggies out of the house in November, we are stronger and better than they are. Anyone that thinks they are going to get in has not been out in the public arena talking to We the People – CT residents are steaming and will be shouting their opinions come November on the ballots.
