Open up your hearts and your minds to the words of Professor Derrick Bell

While on the treadmill for the last 30 minutes, I did tune into Hannity although I should be taking the opportunity to catch up on Justified or Southland.

No surprises. All we got was a hug. I’m certain we’ll hear more about Professor Bell in the future, and we know “radical” fits his description, but for now…

  • President Obama was pretty close to Derrick Bell and completely embraced what they man had to say. Bell was another radical in the same vein as Rev. Wright and others.
  • The media or someone tweaked the video – both Frontline years ago and BuzzFeed today – to exclude some of the audio and/or the hug at the end. No big deal, but one of Obama’s debate coaches said they took steps to hide the video during the 2008 campaign. (His words.)
  • If Sarah Palin had made a similar video in college glowingly introducing and embracing a former white supremacist in 2008, they would have been all over it.

The media really should have done a better job vetting Obama, but at this point, we know exactly what the man wants. In my opinion, this additional “vetting” will convince no additional voters the current president has big time, big government socialist tendencies. In other words, if you don’t get it by now, your’re not going to get it.

If you’re a liberal and voted for Obama, you’re going to vote for him again unless you feel you got screwed by the government. In other words you got something from them which is suddenly taken away, or you were promised something you didn’t get. An other possibility is you have an enlightened conservative awakening. If awakenings are happening – and I think they are – conservatives have the edge.

It’s another brick in the foundation of how Obama came to be Obama. But all I need to see is what he, his administration and Democrats in Congress have been doing for the last 40-plus months.

Update: I was able to read parts of the Frontline transcript last night (it’s hard for me to read since it included the narration) but I saw a brief portion of the video and it does include “the hug.” It does not include “Open up your hearts and your minds to the words of Professor Derrick Bell.” Bell was a pretty radical guy, but again, that’s nothing new. Again … it’s what he’s done since he took office in Jan. 2009 that matters to me.

Yeah, Steve, you’re right…the media *should* have vetted Obama better…but they jumped on that O-train with the zealotry usually reserved for seriously religious people going on a pilgrimage.? Not to say that McCain didn’t say or do some questionable things during the election to ruin his own chances, but Obama had NO track record and what he did have was hidden by his campaign advisers with the media’s complicity.
That said, I don’t think anyone who supported obama then cares about any of his secrets coming out now.? You’re right–unless there’s been an awakening his base of support will remain the same.? Here’s hopin’ it didn’t grow.

I? happened to watch the tube late last night…Fox and MSNBC…channel flopping. Ed Shultz had a guest, the man who was a student that organized a gathering with speaker , the gathering was for diversity. This man was dumbfounded, he said that he was searching for speakers and found that Obama was the president for the Law Review. He didn’t know if he would speak, but he did.
Look at the tape of Obama ginning up the crowd for violence (sarc), the khakis and button down…radical! Look at the students…mostly white and aren’t they just filthy dirty hippies? Another desperate spin, sorry Steve. (BTW< this tape has been available since 1991.)

Crystal, I think that’s the point.? The video has been available since 1991 and the media did not bring it up during the 2008 campagin, showing a clear bias and allowing for BHO to not be vetted.

I didn’t hear or read anything that Steve wrote about “ginning up the crowd for violence”. Nor did I hear him give a review of the crowd’s fashion.? This tape may have been around since 1991, I’ll take your word. It further emphasizes Steve’s point, we never saw it on Good Morning America or for that matter any other purported “News” show from the Main Stream Media.? Steve’s point is Why didn’t we see this before. BTW, Steve, how long did you spend on the treadmill?

Notable quotes from PBS’s Frontline: The Choice 2008 (http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/choice2008/etc/script.html):

No Rezko.? No Ayers.? A little Wright, but only one quote (“Racism is how this country was founded and how this country is still run.”).? No commentary on the association with Bell.
As for Wright, they dumped him on fears that Fox (no worries about the MSM apparently) “would blast these quotes from Obama’s crazy pastor, so they yanked Wright.”?? And “… how big a problem was (Wright), how could they deal with it if it erupted, and could they just kind of keep it in the back?”

It appears that they mostly succeeded.?

And about how he got selected for the HLR presidency:

“KENNETH MACK: … And a conservative editor who probably disagreed with just about everything that Barack stood for got up and said that he was firmly behind Barack because we were a divided institution, this was the best person to lead the institution and to reach out to all constituencies, even though he had his own political views and made them known.”
      ?
Clearly, ?bama was the right color at the right time.? Sound familiar?

To conclude, with a quote from ?bama: “The government can make…

…a difference in all of our lives.”??

There are good and bad differences though…

(sorry, Steve.? I edited it as much as I could!)

I dont get it – so many things have come out that would have prevented that disaster election from tipping to Obama had they been known before the election, and SOOOO many people are hellbent on going “meh, no big deal, he’s already president” now that they find this crap out.? Sorta like with Obamacare – 80% of any of those details would have been more than enough to kill it, and now that we’re finding out all this jacked up stuff after its been “passed,” people go “meh, they say its got to be covered, so let’s have the insurance companies cover it, what’s the problem?”
    ?
*facepalm*? Right.? Some people Just. Dont. Get. It.?
    ?
hah…kinda like the whole post racial thing, right crystal?? racism’s gone thanks to obama, now nobody views anything with race in mind, huh??? Its funny watching the brainwashed try to rationalize and claim they actually thought on their way to subscribing to certain ideas.

I must have missed something…because Steve never stated anything about the racial composition of the crowd, or as Lynn pointed out their fashion sense.
Seems to me that there are plenty of white-collar criminals out there who wear khakis and button-down collared shirts.? Just because they dress like a Harvard law student doesn’t mean that they’re above breaking and/or twisting the law (including constitutional law) to their greedy needs.? But whatevah…the histrionic take and not addressing the simple facts (that the msm never released this during the last election cycle) of this post are exhausting to keep up with.

i remember derrick bell at harvard.? he was a real piece of work on many levels.? but i can’t find anyone who remembers obama.? except prof. tribe, who swears that he was there. . .? guess that’s sufficient vetting. . .
