Obama Energy Czar: We’ll do cap and trade in … lame duck session?

Well there you go … the will of the people. It worked with health care and the stimulus. Cram it through. November is gunna be fun.I think the real point here is that the Obama crowd just doesn’t feel it needs to listen, which of course is their modus operandi. From one of your favorite Czars, Carol Browner.

Cap and Trade or American energy independence of whatever the Democrats call it these days, is nothing more than a revenue generator disguised as a social engineering plan. No wait it’s both. It will raise taxes on carbon energy, and raise prices to you on everything from cars to electricity. But remember its for your own good.

We're the government, and we're here to help you.  The implied line: because you are too stupid to do it yourself.  Even if polls show you don't like it.  Even if the bottom has fallen out of the "science" you use to push it.

What better way to stall the engine of our economy than starve it for fuel?  When does is stop being a result of Øbama's ineptitude, and seen as deliberate?

Did anyone see Browner on the Early Show, where the administration kept a computer monitor behind her with a scroll of Øbama's "accomplishments".  Or the whitewashed descriptions of them?  Apparently SeeBS had no issue with that.

Oh yeah, I forgot.  It is only on at my house because I am watching the news before it comes on.

That scroll of accomplishments must have been pretty short

    I don't care if it's for my own good…

Can I opt out, or will there be a fine?

If I understand correctly, we purchase carbon credits from the 3rd world- let's say Nigeria.  So Nigeria takes our money in exchange for their carbon credits- this allows Nigeria to subsist without contributing to global warming/expending their carbon credits while making things.   But if we're sending money to Nigeria, surely this would unnaturally increase fertility, home building, purchasing of cars…  Or this carbon money would be a lot like other foreign aid which gets filtered through the hands of third world despots who ingratiate themselves with cast gold toilets while their people live in squalor.  I wonder what kind of toilets they have in the White House?

We'll be the first for cap & tax that way all jobs can leave to go off shore. Why can't we be last then cut ourselves a good deal.

I wonder why there isn't a rule that lame duck sessions can create legislation etc., but any vote on said legislation must come from the new Congress.  It would benefit both parties and keep these sorts of shenanigans from occurring.  The power of a lame duck legislator should be limited, as the tendency to do mischief, or just get even with the voters in a nothing to lose mindset is too great.

We've seen that Øbama has no compunction against using recess appointments to completely avoid any sort of Congressional scrutiny of his appointees (Berwick), so why would he hesitate to use this tactic against Americans?
